    • An external signal synchronized message signaling apparatus which outputs a particular message to channels of a time division output frame in accordance with a state of an external signal is disclosed. The message signaling apparatus includes a switch buffer, a selector, a message memory, a read control memory and a read controller. Addresses common to the switch buffer and the message memory are stored in the read control memory, and the read controller reads out one of the addresses from the read control memory, reads out data from the switch buffer or the message memory based on the read out address and outputs the read out data to a time division frame. Synchronization instruction information is set individually for the individual data in the read control memory or the message memory, and only when an external synchronizing signal is present when data to be signaled for an individual channel us to be read out, the address read out by the read controller is used as an address for the message memory.

    • An improved electrical connector assembly for mounting to a printed circuit board (6) and for receiving a PC card. The electrical connector assembly includes a housing (3) having signal terminals (1) and ground terminals (2), wherein the tail portions (11) of the signal terminals are of surface mount type and the tail portions (21) of the ground terminals are of through-hole type. The tail portions of the ground terminals extend in at least one row toward the circuit board between the tail portions of the signal terminals and the rear end of the housing. In this configuration, the signal terminal tail portions and the ground terminal tail portions can be simultaneously soldered and all of the solder joints can be inspected without obstruction, the surface mount solder joints inspected from an upper surface (7) of the circuit board and the through-hole solder joints can be inspected from a lower surface (8) of the circuit board. The ground terminals, in the form of a unitary ground shield, are positioned on an upper surface of the housing (3).

    • An IC card connector apparatus including a lock mechanism comprising: a box-type casing having card-receiving opening formed at one end thereof for inserting and ejecting an IC card; an electric connector mounted within said casing opposite said opening for mating with an edge of the IC card; and an eject mechanism including an eject rod disposed on one side of the casing.     • A cable connector includes a housing with an insertion recess for receiving an end of a flat cable and a plurality of terminals disposed in the housing for connecting to conductive leads of the flat cable.     • A connector for joining together two lengths of FPC or FFC-type cable has a housing (31) and two FPC-cable-receiving slots (33) formed therein, on the same side of the housing. The slots are disposed in the housing on opposite sides of an axis of symmetry, and the slots each contain a plurality of conductive terminals (41). The actuators spread the contact beams apart in response to movement in one direction and urge them toward each other in the other direction.
