摘要： A process is provided for dewaxing hydrocarbon feedstock by isomerizing the waxy components of the feedstock over catalyst comprising a siliceous zeolite having been prepared by the method comprising providing a boron-containing zeolite Beta, treating the zeolite with silicon tetrachloride at a temperature and for a time sufficient to replace boron with silicon, and recovering the siliceous zeolite having reduced boron content but substantially preserved initial aluminum content.

摘要： It has been discovered that although a spent dewaxing catalyst based on a shape selective zeolite catalyst can be regenerated to restore its alpha activity, while substantially maintaining the acid site density of the fresh catalyst, the aging rate of that regenerated catalyst applied in multi-cycle dewaxing operations increases from cycle to cycle. In accordance with the invention use of a sorbent guard bed upstream of the dewaxing catalyst bed and regeneration of the dewaxing catalyst, isolated from the sorbent guard bed with recycle of such regenerated dewaxing catalyst, to the multi-cycle dewaxing operation is described. The result is that the increase in aging rate, referred to above is substantially eliminated, which provides predicatability of conditions in second, third and fourth dewaxing cycles.

摘要： Conversion of hydrocarbons is conducted over low acidity zeolites such as the sodium form of zeolite ZSM-5 to yield products like those produced by hydrocracking but with substantially decreased proportion of light hydrocarbons having one to four carbon atoms. (Sulfiding of sodium zeolites activates such sodium zeolites for the present purpose.) The hydrocarbon conversion is conducted with mixed phase charge (Trickle mode) under hydrogen pressure or with liquid phase charge in a liquid-full reactor.A catalyst composition comprising a metallic hydrogenation catalyst on a refractory support and an alkali metal crystalline zeolite.

摘要： A shape-selective catalyst comprises a synthetic porous crystalline material having the structure of ZSM-5 and a composition involving the molar relationship: X2O3:(n)YO2, wherein X is a trivalent element, such as aluminum, boron, iron and/or gallium, preferably aluminum; Y is a tetravalent element such as silicon and/or germanium, preferably silicon; and n is greater than about 12, and wherein the crystals have a major dimension of at least about 0.5 micron and a surface YO2/X2O3 ratio which is no more than 20% less than the bulk YO2/X2O3 ratio of the crystal. The crystals have a diffusion-modifying surface coating of a refractory material such as silica or coke. The catalyst is useful in a wide variety of selective hydrocarbon conversion processes, particularly the selective disproportionation of toluene to para-xylene.

摘要： There is provided a catalytic method for converting nitrogen oxides to nitrogen (i.e., N.sub.2). The catalyst for this method comprises an acidic solid component comprising a Group IVB metal oxide modified with an oxyanion of a Group VIB metal. An example of this catalyst is zirconia, modified with tungstate. This method may be used for reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides from waste gases, including industrial exhaust gases and automobile exhaust gases. In a particular embodiment, nitrogen oxides in waste gases may be reacted with ammonia before the waste gases are discharged to the atmosphere.

摘要： The catalytic activity of a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having a Constraint Index of from about 1 to about 12 for a variety of hydrocarbon conversions including the oligomerization of olefins to provide high viscosity index lubes is significantly enhanced by modifying the catalyst to reduce surface acid sites. This is accomplished by contacting the zeolite with a fluorosilicate salt to extract surface zeolite aluminum which is replaced by silicon.

摘要： The present invention provides a process for modifying a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having a Constraint Index of from about to about 12 which comprises:(a) steaming the as synthesized crytalline aluminosilicate zeolite containing organic template material to decompose at least a portion of said template material and to extract zeolitic aluminum; and,(b) contacting the zeolite resulting from step (a) in the ammonium, alkali metal or hydrogen form with a dealuminizing agent which forms a water-soluble complex with aluminum to remove a further quantity of zeolitic aluminum therefrom wherein said treated catalyst is employed in the making of lube oil from olefins.
