    • A method of controlling content rendering to one or more content rendering devices (22, 24, 26, 28) associated with a consumer environment (12) includes receiving an initial content reference from within the consumer environment. Zero or more equivalent content references associated with the initial content reference are identified. A preferred equivalent content reference associated with the consumer environment is selected from the initial content reference and the equivalent content references. A content instance described by the preferred equivalent content reference is rendered on a first content rendering device. The method may also include selecting a preferred content rendering device associated with the consumer environment. The preferred content rendering device is compatible with the preferred equivalent content reference. A content instance described by the preferred equivalent content reference is then rendered to the preferred content rendering device. In another embodiment, a consumer environment (12) includes: a consumer network (14), a receiver (18), a content equivalency server (20), one or more content rendering devices (22, 24, 26, 28), and a controller (16).

    • This invention relates to a method of managing a media system (103, 201, 208) with a group identifier in a network (210) of media systems. The invention further relates to a media system for managing a network of media systems with a group identifier. The media system can be may be a set-top box, a TV, a PC, a DVD player, a radio, a screen, a camera or a VCR. Said method includes the steps of determining a status of the network, wherein the status represents the group identifier, presence and/or absence of at least one media system; and determining the group identifier for at least one media system based on the determined status. Said step of determining the group identifier comprises the alternative four steps of resetting the group identifier, when said media system is disconnected from the network; or giving an existing group identifier to a first media system (201), when said media system without a group identifier is connected to a second media system (202) having said existing group identifier; or keeping separate group identifiers to a third (203) and a fourth media system (204), when the third and the fourth media system are connected to the network; or giving a first group identifier specified by a user, when a fifth media system (205) is connected to the network to one or more media systems where none of these has a group identifier, and assigning the first group identifier to all of said media systems. Said method further includes the step of: giving a second group identifier specified by a user to a sixth media system (206). Hereby, it is made easy for a user to add, move and remove media systems without the user interaction, since the media systems themselves determine the group identifiers.

    • A manifold for distributing a circulating fluid, such as water, to multiple zones of a hydronic system, such as a hot water heating system. The manifold is of unitary construction and includes a plurality of distribution branches and an air scoop extending from a common header conduit. The air scoop extracts air from the water being circulated through the manifold. The air scoop may be coupled to an air vent to purge air from the water. The manifold may also include an expansion tank coupling that is disposed on the header conduit to couple the tank to the header conduit. The air scoop may include a housing affixed to the header conduit and a baffle that protrudes into the header conduit to direct air into the housing so that it can be vented through the air vent. The baffle may be angled relative to the longitudinal axis of the header conduit.

    • Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for generating a composite image from both two-dimensional (2D) image layers and three-dimensional (3D) image layers. In one embodiment, the image layers are arranged in a sequence in which a top 3D image layer is separated from a bottom 3D image layer by a 2D image layer and the image layers are rendered according to the sequence. In another embodiment, at least one of the image layers is associated with an adjustment layer, and rendering the composite image includes determining whether each current image layer has an associated adjustment layer with a dimensionality different from that of the current image layer, and if it does, applying the adjustment layer accordingly. In another embodiment, at least one of the image layers is associated with a track matte.
