摘要： PURPOSE:To simply obtain an oxide superconductor by forming a specified pellet, bringing a single crystal having perovskite structure and a higher decomposition temp. than a compd. obtd. from the pellet as a seed crystal into contact with the pellet, forming a liq. phase, etc., by heating and carrying out slow cooling. CONSTITUTION:Compds. of R (e.g. Sc), Ba and Cu are mixed in a desired ratio and pelletized. A single crystal (e.g. SrTiO3) having perovskite structure and a higher decomposition temp. than a compd. obtd. from the resulting pellet and represented by the formula (where R is one or more kinds of elements selected among Y, Sc and Lanthanoids and delta=0.1 to 0.5) is brought as a seed crystal into contact with the pellet and they are heated to 1,050-1,300 deg.C to form an R2BaCuO5 phase and a liq. phase in the pellet. The temp. of the seed crystal side is then set at 960-1,050 deg.C, 5-20 deg.C/cm temp. gradient is given from the seed crystal side to the pellet side and slow cooling is carried out at 1-5 deg.C/hr cooling rate to produce an oxide superconductor represented by the formula and contg. R2BaCuO5 dispersed as fine crystals from the seed crystal as a base point.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve superconducting characteristics by mixing fine particles obtd. by converting R2O3 into org. acid salt by coprecipitation with a Ba compd., etc., heating the mixture, forming a specified phase and a liq. phase, reducing the temp. and carrying out slow cooling. CONSTITUTION:Starting material such as an R compd. (R2O3) is converted into org. acid salt by coprecipitation to obtain an R compd. in the form of fine particles. This R compd. is mixed with BaCO3 and CuO in a desired ratio and the mixture is heated at 1,050-1,300 deg.C to form an R2Ba1Cu1O5 phase and a liq. phase. The temp. of the resulting liq. phase and the formed substance is reduced to 900-1,000 deg.C and slow cooling is carried out to grow a phase represented by the formula (where R is one or more kinds of elements belonging to the group IIIa of the periodic table and delta is 0.1-0.5). An oxide superconductor contg. the fine R2Ba1Cu1O5 phase (211 phase as an electric conductive phase) uniformly dispersed as a magnetic flux pinning substance (pinning site) in the phase (123 phase as a superconducting phase) represented by the formula is produced.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of RE-Ba-Cu-O oxide superconducting material in a large size having characteristics of higher magnetic repulsive force and coercive force. SOLUTION: A RE compd., a Ba compd. and a Cu compd. are weighed and mixed in such a manner that each component, by mol%, of the compsn. is included in the region surrounded by lines connecting the points A(35, 25, 40), B(35, 35, 30) C(15, 40, 45) and D(15, 30, 55) in a triangular coordinate which represents the component of RE, Ba and Cu (mol%). The mixture powder is calcined at 900-1500 deg.C to obtain a calcined powder, which is then formed into pellets to obtain a pellet precursor. Then the precursor is heated at 990-1300 deg.C into a coexistence state of solid and liquid and cooled to the temp of a seed crystal. A single crystal of NdGaO3 , Sr2 AlTaO6 or Sr2 AlNbO6 is used as the seed crystal and is brought into contact with the precursor. Then the precursor is gradually cooled to room temp. while temp. gradient by 5-50 deg.C/cm is generated with the seed crystal in the lower temp. side. Thus, a large oriented crystal of RE-Ba-Cu-O oxide superconductive material having the same crystalline direction as that of the seed crystal can be grown from the seed crystal as the base point.

Then, at least one compd. of these compds. are selected, mixed, and burnt or molten, and then mixed with the remaining compds. to form pellets. The obtd. pellets are stacked in the order from top to bottom such as Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Y, Ho, and Er. The obtd. stacked body is heated at 1000-1300 deg.C to form a R2Ba1Cu1O6 phase and a liquid phase, and then slowly cooled down to room temp.

SOLUTION: First, a RE compound (RE is at least one kind of rare earth metal element including Y), a Ba compound and a Cu compound are weighed and mutually mixed so as to result in a composition falling in the area enclosed by points A (35, 25, 40), B (35, 35, 30), C (15, 40, 45) and D (15, 30, 55) (the numbers represent mol% of RE, Ba and Cu, respectively). Secondly, the mixture is baked at 850-1,500 deg.C into calcinated powder which is then molded into a pellet-shaped precursor. Thirdly, the precursor is heated at 990-1300 deg.C to solid- liquid coexistent state and brought to seed crystal contact temperature. Fourthly, a seed crystal, an oriented crystal containing RE(Ba1-y Sry )2 Cu3 O7- X phase ((y) is 0.01-1), is brought into contact with the above precursor. Finally, the precursor is gradually cooled to room temperature to obtain the objective large-sized oriented crystal of RE-Ba-Cu-O-based oxide superconductor having azimuth same as that of the seed crystal from the seed crystal as starting point.

A single crystal in which Nd Ba2 Cu2 O10 phases are dispersed in a Nd1+y Ba2-y Cu3 O7-x phase (x is 0-0.5; y is 0.1-0.5) in a composition ratio of 1:0.1 to 1:1.5 is used as a seed crystal. The precursor is heated at 990-1300 deg.C to give a solid-liquid mixture state, further heated at a seed crystal- contacting temperature, brought into contact with the seed crystals, and gradually cooled to a room temperature at a temperature gradient of 5-50 deg.C/cm so that the side of the seed crystal is arranged on the side of a low temperature.
