摘要： A cabinet having a plurality of rack mountable chassis. One portion of such chassis has directors and electrically interconnected memory and another portion of such chassis having a plurality of disk drives. The plurality of chassis are electrically interconnected to provide a data storage system interface. The another portion of the cabinets includes therein a printed circuit board having plugged into a surface thereof a plurality of disk drives. The cabinet includes a plurality of rack mountable chassis. A first one of such chassis has a memory and a plurality of directors for controlling data transfer between a host computer/server and a bank of disk drives as such data passes through the memory. A first plurality of the directors are for coupling to the host computer/server. A second plurality of the directors are for coupling to a bank of disk drives. A second one of such chassis has a plurality of disk drives, such disk drives being plugged into a surface of a printed circuit board. Electrical conductors are provided for connecting the disk drives in the second chassis to the second plurality of directors in the first chassis.

摘要： An x-ray source assembly (2700) and method of operation are provided having enhanced output stability. The assembly includes an anode (2125) having a source spot upon which electrons (2120) impinge and a control system (2715/2720) for controlling position of the anode source spot relative to an output structure. The control system can maintain the anode source spot location relative to the output structure (2710) notwithstanding a change in one or more operating conditions of the x-ray source assembly. One aspect of the disclosed invention is most amenable to the analysis of sulfur in petroleum-based fuels.

摘要： A fiber channel, interconnecting a plurality of disk drive loops and associated high speed bypass switches, has a selected group of high speed bypass switches to modularize the fiber channel and to reduce electrical signal jitter on the channel. More particularly, the fiber channel loop has a first group of bypass switches being connected to either connect an associated disk drive to the loop or to electrically isolate the loop from the associated disk drive, and a second group of the bypass switches is then connected, in a first operating state, to connect a group of disk drives and their respective associated bypass switches for electrical signal communications with disk drive controller, and in a second operating state, for electrically isolating the group of disk drives and their respective associated bypass switches from communications with the controller. The disk drives and their associated bypass switches can be modularly added to the fiber channel configuration by employing the second group of bypass switches as high speed controllable gateways.

The device includes an x-ray source (1100) including an x-ray tube (1105) having improved heat-dissipating properties due to the thermal coupling of the x-ray tube with a thermally-conductive, dielectric material (1150). The device may include a base assembly (1135) mounted to the component for conducting heat away from the component while electrically isolating the component. In one aspect of the invention, the base assembly includes two copper plates (1140, 1145) separated by a dielectric plate (1150). The dielectric plate minimizes or prevents the leakage of current through the base assembly (1135). One aspect of the disclosed invention is most amenable to the analysis of sulfur in petroleum-based fuels.

摘要： The training bat of the present invention has a length and weight substantially equivalent to that of a conventional bat. The training bat is comprised of a barrel section, a handle, and a transition section intermediate to the barrel section and the handle section. The barrel section has a diameter which is smaller than that of a conventional bat. However, the barrel section also includes a weighted member such that the training bat has a weight which is substantially equivalent to that of a conventional bat. The present invention also provides a swing training method which utilizes the training bat described above. The method involves a batter swinging at a baseball with the training bat having the reduced diameter barrel section. Next, the batter swings at the baseball with a conventional bat. That step is followed by the batter swinging at a ball having a smaller diameter such as a golf ball using the training bat and then using the conventional bat.
