    • A reversible gear machine which can be used either as a gear pump or as a gear motor regardless of the pressure gradient direction between its inlet and outlet ports includes a housing accommodating meshing gears for rotation about their respective axes which are defined by respective stub shafts extending axially beyond the end faces of the gears. At least one pressure element, which may be constituted by bearing members for the stub shafts, and which is movable axially of the respective stub shafts, has a surface facing away from the gears. A sealing component including a relatively rigid support ring and an elastically yieldable sealing body is accommodated in a groove of the sealing element provided at the aforementioned surface of the latter, such that the support ring contacts the close end wall of the housing and a rib of the sealing body contacts the bottom of the groove and subdivides the latter into two compartments. The sealing component delimits on the aforementioned surface of the sealing element first and second pressure fields which are in communication with the respective ports of the gear machine, and third pressure fields which are situated between the sealing component and the respective stub shafts and which are subjected to the pressure prevailing between the other axial surface of the pressing element inwardly of the root circle of the gear teeth and outwardly of the respective stub shafts. Two of the pressing elements and two of the sealing components may be provided, each at one axial side of the gears.

    • A method for clipping a baseband input signal filters the complex baseband input signal with a function H1 for forming a filtered first signal. To form a clipped signal in the baseband the filtered first signal is multiplied by a scaling factor. By a signal analysis of the filtered first signal signal overshoots are predicted from which the scaling factor is determined for the baseband clipping. The filter function H1 is calculated as the quotient from a frequency response HS of a transmission filter used one the one hand and from an error frequency response HF on the other hand, with the error frequency response HF being determined in such a way that the error spectrally shaped with HF, which arises for the limitation of the baseband signal, a frequency-dependent tolerance is not exceeded. Subsequently the clipped signal is filtered with the error frequency response HF for forming a filtered second signal.

    • A housing contains a diffusion indicator tube provided with a predetermined breaking point and the housing has an upper part and a lower part joined together by a film hinge. To open the inserted diffusion indicator tube its predetermined breaking point is positioned opposite the film hinge. By bending the housing parts, the break-off end breaks off the test tube at the predetermined breaking point, thereby opening the reaction section. The parts of the test tube are removed, and then the reaction section is pushed into the upper part, now with its closed end first, whereupon it is snapped into the lower part. Its opening at the bottom shoulder of the lower part is exposed to the ambient atmosphere which diffuses into it. In the presence of the gas to be monitored there will be discoloration due to reaction. The discoloration can be observed continuously through the open side of the holding means.

    • A hydraulic gear machine which is particularly suited for use as a reversible hydraulic gear motor includes a pair of gear elements having externally meshing outer peripheral gear portions and stub shafts which are supported in an internal chamber of a housing on respective sleeve-shaped bearings. Two such bearings are arranged at each axial side of the gear elements, one for the stub shaft of each of the gear elements which extends to this axial side. The housing includes a circumferential wall and two end walls. Sealing elements having the configuration of the numeral three are arranged at the interfaces between the bearings and the end walls. The sealing elements are oppositely oriented with respect to a common plane including the axes of rotation of the gear elements at the respective axial sides. Depending on the direction of flow of pressurized hydraulic medium through the machine, a dominating pressure zone builds up at one or the other of the interfaces, the effect of the pressure of the pressurized medium on this pressure zone being to press the bearings in a sealing manner against the gear elements to eliminate gaps therebetween through which the pressurized hydraulic medium could otherwise escape without transferring its energy to the gear elements as useful mechanical energy.
