摘要： A system for optical communication forms a family of orthogonal optical codes modulated by a data stream. The orthogonal codes are formed by creating a stream of evenly spaced-apart pulses using a pulse spreader circuit and modulating the pulses in amplitude and/or phase to form a family of orthogonal optical code words, each representing a symbol. A spreader calibration circuit is used to ensure accurate timing and modulation. Each code word is further modulated by a predetermined number of data bits. The data modulation scheme splits a code word into H and V components, and further processes the components prior to modulation with data, followed by recombining with a polarization beam combiner. The data-modulated code word is then sent, along with others to receiver. The received signal is detected and demodulated with the help of a symbol synchronization unit which establishes the beginning and end of the code words. A polarization mode distortion compensator at the receiver cooperates with a state of polarization compensator at the transmitter to mitigate polarization distortion in the fiber.

摘要： A system for optical communication send optical signals over a plurality of wavelength channels. Each wavelength channel comprises a number of orthogonal subchannel frequencies which are spaced apart from one another by a predetermined amount. Each of the subchannel frequencies is modulated with data from a data stream. The data modulation scheme splits a subchannel frequency code into H and V components, and further processes the components prior to modulation with data. The various data-modulated subchannels are then combined into a single channel for transmission. The received signals are detected and demodulated with the help of a symbol timing recovery module which establishes the beginning and end of each symbol. A polarization mode distortion compensation module at the receiver is used to mitigate the effects to polarization more distortion in the fiber.

Each discrete stochastic process is modulated with a set of continuous signals that represents the noise generated by the corresponding noise source at each noise generating event. A spectral power density of the signals resulting from the modulation is computed and transferred through a linear system that represents a platform that supports the circuit. The output of the linear system comprises the spectral power density of interference signals at the points of interest and their correlations.

摘要： An autodialer with code feature, has a credit card sized carrier which contains; an audio transducer mounted to the carrier and activatable to produce tones that are comprehensible as discreet numerals and symbols by a touch-tone dialing system. A memory in the carrier stores a first sequence of numbers representing a telephone number and a second sequence of numbers representing a personal code. A control operatively connected to the memory and to the audio transducer, reads the first and second sequence of numbers and drives the audio transducer to generate tones corresponding to each number in each number sequence. A power supply mounted in the carrier is connected to the control, the memory and audio transducer for powering the control, memory and audio transducer. A first activator switch is connect to the control for controlling the control to read the first sequence of numbers only and generate tones in the audio transducer corresponding to the first sequence of numbers. A second activator switch spaced and separator from said first activator switch, is connected to the control for controlling the control to select the second sequence of numbers only and to activate the audio transducer according to the second sequence of numbers.
