摘要： A deployment and distribution model improves content delivery with a business incentive for placement of kiosks with one or more wireless access points in public locations so that portable media players (PMPs) can receive media content (e.g., audio, video, text, haptic content, etc.). In addition, coordination between subscribing users of PMPs, vendors who provide kiosks, and a network central controller of a content distribution system allow for prepositioning of video content at the kiosks through economically desirable low data rate communication links from the network (e.g., dial- up modem, DSL, etc.); coordinated queuing of downloads (e.g., partial downloads) between kiosk to PMP, peer-to-peer (P2P) downloading between PMPs, and uploads from PMP to kiosk; billing/crediting to correspond with such participation in the distribution; and changing priority/selection of prepositioning of content at kiosks to reflect a clientele profile.

摘要： Access by a mobile station to a femto access point (FAP) of a wireless communication system is controlled by an enforcement point in response to mobile station authorization data provided from a storage point that is remote from the FAP. The authorization data is provided in response to FAP authentication data. The authentication data may include a FAP identifier and a message authenticator that the FAP generates by hashing shared secret information. The storage point may provide the authorization data in response to determining that the message authenticator is a hash of the shared secret information.

摘要： A method for reducing interference to wireless communication devices is disclosed. A proximity of a wireless communication device to a base station is determined. The proximity of the wireless communication device is compared with a proximity threshold and based on the comparison, access to a femtocell may be granted to a restricted/non-CSG (closed subscriber group) wireless communication device. The method also includes causing a registration response to be sent to the wireless communication device based on the comparison.

摘要： Aspects are disclosed for facilitating a hand-in to a femto cell. An identifier is assigned to a femto cell in which the identifier is based on a scrambling parameter and a timing parameter. A relationship between the identifier and the femto cell is then communicated. In another embodiment, a user equipment report is received, which includes attributes related to a signal broadcast by a femto cell. An identifier associated with the femto cell is ascertained from an attribute included in the report. The femto cell is then identified based on the identifier. In a further embodiment, a timing parameter is received, and a scrambling parameter is set. A signal including the scrambling parameter is then broadcast according to an offset related to the timing parameter. In yet another embodiment, a femto cell is detected during an active call. An identifier associated with the femto cell is then ascertained and reported.

Data activity at a receiver may be determined, and CQI reporting by the receiver may be adjusted based on the determined data activity. In one design, CQI reporting may be enabled for a time window around each expected packet arrival for a periodic or quasi-periodic transmission and may be suspended outside of the time window. In another design, CQI reporting may be varied based on ACK/NACK feedback. In yet another design, CQIs may be sent at a first rate when data activity is not detected and at a second rate faster than the first rate when data activity is detected. In yet another design, CQIs may be sent only during discontinuous transmission (DTX) ON periods when data activity is not detected and may be sent during both DTX ON and OFF periods when data activity is detected.

The mobile terminal measures or otherwise obtains radio condition measurements (such as received power, interference, mobile transmit power and the like) and/or geographical location measurements. The radio condition measurements and/or location measurements are compared against historical data and/or target Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and, based on the comparison, a determination can be made as to whether adjustment of RRM parameters is warranted. By providing for RRM management at the mobile terminal level, as opposed to a cell or Radio Network Controller (RNC) level, better granularity of management is realized in the overall radio network. Further, individual mobile terminals can better tailor their radio resource needs to meet their conditions of use and, as such, better overall service can be realized by the individual mobile terminals in the network.
