    • A dual in line switch apparatus selects between several switch positions. A housing has several slides. A row of terminals is attached to the housing. A contact sheet is located between the slides and the terminals. The contact sheet operates, as the slide is moved, to make and break electrical connections between the terminals. The contact sheet includes a flexible film having a contact pad and a detent notch and an adhesive tape that is attached to the flexible film. The tape has a slot formed therein and the contact pad is pressed through the slot by the slide to electrically connect with the terminals. The switch provides electrical contacts that are sealed from detrimental environmental effects. The detent notch provides a positive mechanical stop with tactile feedback for each of the switch positions. An alternative embodiment uses another flexible film with conductive vias that connect to solder spheres.

    • A volume control for in-wall building stereo systems. Specifically, there is a sliding switch coupled between a mounting bracket and a printed circuit board that has components mounted thereon including two multi-tap inductors or transformers. The in-wall mounted speaker volume control slide selector switch assembly. Specifically, the assembly has a sliding selector switch, for housing electrical components, having a shaft extending from the sliding selector switch, for sliding in a linear direction to control volume of the in-wall mounted speaker. Additionally, there is a transformer, for supplying power to the in-wall mounted speaker, having a plurality of transformer taps. Further, there is a printed circuit board, for electrically connecting and physically mounting the transformers and the sliding selector switch thereto. Also, there is a mounting bracket, for supporting the printed circuit board and the transformer and sliding selector switch. The mounting bracket has a slot, for receiving the shaft during linear actuation, and a mounting tab, for attaching the mounting bracket to the printed circuit board. Finally, there are a plurality of selector switch pin lead holes mounted in the printed circuit board for electrically and mechanically connecting pins from the transformer and sliding selector switch.

    • A lighted contact switch comprising: a non-conductive housing; a conductive biased spring member in electrical contact with a first terminal disposed in the housing base, and adapted to provide electrical contact with a second terminal disposed in the housing base when the biased spring member is depressed; an actuator positioned adjacent to the biased spring member; and a cap adapted with opposing tabs sized to engage and secure the cap to the actuator at assembly. The lighted switch includes opposing lamp terminals disposed at one end within the actuator sides, and extending at the opposite end through apertures in the housing base, the lamp is releasably secured between the lamp terminals and may be independently illuminated by electrical communication with the lamp terminals extending from the base. Graphics, lettering or numbering may be marked upon a translucent insert secured to the cap to identify the switching function. For non-lighted use, the switch may be assembled without the lamp.

    • An electrical switch suitable for use singly or in tandem with other switches and/or with a variable resistance control. Each of the tandem switch housing sections defines a cavity and provides an annular bearing member rotatably supporting the periphery of a disk shaped switch actuator. The switch actuators close the cavities of the respective switch housing sections and each of the switch actuators carries a cam disposed near its periphery in an interference path with a contact spring biased between spaced projections on common contact means. The contact spring is provided with a pair of end members pivotally secured to the common contact means and a U-shaped section joined to the end members. The cam engages the bight portion of the U-shaped section for moving the legs of the U-shaped section into and out of engagement with first and second contact means disposed in each housing section. A plurality of lugs and lug receiving notches on each switch actuator provide the means to interconnect respective switch actuators for simultaneous rotation thereof.

More than one push member may be used to supply multiple switching configurations. A protrusion on a first push member may be adapted to actuate an adjoining second push member, while allowing the second push member to be operated independently of the first push member. This switch provides a snap action, sliding contact and release which is particularly useful for D.C. switching.
