摘要： This invention is an improved tissue localizing device for fixedly yet removably marking a volume of tissue containing a suspect region for excision. This invention also encompasses methods for deployment of the localizing device and its excision along with the marked tissue volume. At least one locator element is deployed into tissue and assumes a predetermined curvilinear shape to define a tissue border containing a suspect tissue region along a path. The locator element path preferably encompasses the distalmost portion of the tissue volume without penetrating that volume. Multiple locator elements may be deployed to further define the tissue volume along additional paths defining the tissue volume border that do not penetrate the volume. Other localization wire embodiments of the invention are disclosed in which the tissue volume may be penetrated by a portion of the device. Polar and tangential deployment configurations as well as a locator element that may be cold-formed by a die in the distal portion of the deployment tube into a permanent arcuate shape are also disclosed.

摘要： A process for impregnating an electrical coil which comprises a winding comprising two or more layers consisting of more than one turn of an electrically conducting wire-form material with a polymer material which electrically insulates the individual turns of the wire-form material from one another with the aid of a thermally curable epoxy resin composition, which composition is solid at room temperature and comprises the following constituents:(a) an epoxy resin which is solid at room temperature, selected from(a1) polyglycidyl ethers based on novolaks;(a2) diglycidyl ethers based on bisphenols, and(a3) mixtures of more than one of components (a1) and (a2);(b) a crosslinking agent for component (a);(c) a suitable accelerator for the reaction of component (a) and component (b);(d) from 15 to 70 percent by weight, based on the overall weight of the composition, of filler selected from(d1) calcium carbonate,(d2) quartz flour,(d3) wollastonite whose particles have an average ratio of length to cross-section which is less than 5:1;(d4) mixtures of components (d1), (d2) and (d3) and(d5) mixtures of components (d1), (d2), (d3) and (d4) with other inorganic fillers; and which also preferably comprises(e) from 10 to 60 percent by weight, based on the overall weight of the composition, of inorganic reinforcements in the form of acicular or fibrillar particles with a length of from 0.05 to 2.5 mm which have an average ratio of length to cross-section of 5:1 or more,the overall amount of component (d) and (e) being not more than 80 percent by weight, based on the overall weight of the composition, inter alia does away with the need to use sacrificial moulds and reduces by a multiple the curing time required for completing the coating of the coils, reducing it to the region of a few minutes.

摘要： A screen assembly includes at least one panel with slots in its side edges, a plurality of upright poles to which the panel is fastened and a plurality of fastening elements. The fastening elements and the panel are arranged such that a foot portion of a fastening element can be inserted into one of the slots and can then be rotated in the slot about an axis transverse to the slot, whereupon the foot portion becomes progressively more securely clamped in the slot and in a final position is locked to the panel. The fastening element is thus easily fixed to the panel and provides a very secure fixing when so fixed.

摘要： According to the present invention, improved methods and apparatus are provided for providing cushioning and other ergonomic surfaces on devices requiring the patient or tissue to be compressed, such as radiography machines, fluoroscopy units, mammography units and the like. In particular a radiolucent pad element is provided for releasable attachment to at least one surface of a compression device to be used under x-ray, for example, during mammography. The pad element of the present invention can be disposable or constructed to be reusable and in some cases may be applied directly to the patient's breast. Furthermore, a cushioned paddle is provided wherein the compression paddle and the cushion can be separately or integrally formed.
