    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for flocculating/precipitating jellyfishes in which the landed jellyfishes from the intake facility of a power station, etc., are deodorized and disposed of. SOLUTION: An inorganic flocculant 2, soil 3, and water 4, which are raw materials, are used together with the jellyfishes. In a crushing/agitating process P1, the jellyfishes, the flocculant 2 in an amount of several wt.% of the jellyfishes, the soil 3 in an amount of several-several tens wt.% of the jellyfishes, and the water equal-several times as much as the jellyfishes are charged into a crushing/agitating container, the mixture is crushed/agitated, and a crushed/ agitated solution is secured. The solution is transferred to a precipitation/ separation process P2, charged into a precipitation tank, and is allowed to stand for a prescribed length of time to be separated into precipitates 5 deposited in the bottom part of the tank and a supernatant solution 6 retained in the upper part of the tank, and the precipitates 5 and the supernatant solution 6 are disposed of respectively. In this way, the method for treating jellyfishes is secured.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for dehydrating jellyfishes landed in quantities, by a weight loaded on top of the jellyfish layers. SOLUTION: An uncovered treatment vessel 1 is connected with a drainpipe 1a holding a drain valve 1b at the lower end of the sidewall, and an uncovered inside vessel 2 by a plurality of supporting members 2c on the bottom of the treatment vessel. The side wall 2a and the bottom is supported 2b of the inside vessel are made of porous materials to communicate with the outside facemember through the materials, and the inner face of the inside vessel is made to form a flexible reticular surface. The jellyfishes 6 are laid on the bottom bed of the inside vessel uniformly by handwork to form a loading layer of jellyfishes at the bottom, and pressing members 3 made of a tabular and porous body covering the jellyfish layers and forming a reticular surface and the jellyfish layers are alternately overlaid. Further a weight 4 hung by a rope 5b of adjustable tension through a pulley 5a from a winch 5 is put on the uppermost pressing member.

The method of measuring the oil in the soil comprises a process (1) of extracting the oil existing in the soil using the nonpolar solvent and the extracting solvent containing at least one kind of surfactants, a process (2) of emulsifying and breaking the obtained extracted liquid and recovering a nonpolar solvent phase, and a process (3) of measuring oil using the obtained nonpolar solvent phase as an inspected sample.
