摘要： Process and appts. for treating liquids, e.g. degassing, or homogenising, dispersing solids in them or using them as cleaning agents, consists of forcing the liquid under pressure through a device consisting essentially of two parts. The first part consists of a cylindrical chamber in which liquid, pumped in at one end is directed so that the flow becomes tangential at the other end inducing turbulence. The second part consists of a cylindrical chamber, aligned with, and of smaller diameter than, the first. Fluid from the first chamber enters the second chamber tangentially. The flow rate and pressure are regulated so that acoustic waves are created in the second chamber producing cavitation in the liquid leaving it. The device or several of them, may be installed in a tank contg. liquid, so that the liquid is agitated and cavitated by the acoustic waves. Articles suspended in the tank can thus be efficiently cleaned, particularly, metal articles before chromium plating. The device may be incorporated in a hand operated tool fitted with a nozzle.

In certain embodiments of the invention, one or more processors (20) are configured to receive spread parameters pertaining to a relationship between two or more securities in one or more markets, receive and process market data relating to the two or more securities, determine whether the market data falls within the spread parameters, initiate a first order for a first security in the spread in a foreign currency, when the market data falls within the spread parameters, initiate a second order for a second security in the spread, when the market data falls within the spread parameters, whereby the second order is in conjunction with the first order at a selected ratio to reduce the risk of adverse price movements in the first security, and initiate an FX Order (30) to offset foreign exchange exposure resulting from the first order.

摘要： The invention provides a prodrug platform technology for improving the therapeutic value of a variety of parent drug compounds by altering and improving drug characteristics such as aqueous solubility, hydrolytic stability, therapeutic index, toxicity profile, pharmacokinetics and selectivity while allowing the potential for synthetic elaboration. The prodrug platform is particularly well suited for targeting therapeutic drugs, including anti-tumor drugs and antibiotics, to specific receptors on target cells (e.g., cancer cells and bacteria).
