    • A prism sheet for a backlight unit and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the prism sheet from being scratched due to a friction between the prism sheets by forming a prism shape in the prism sheet. A prism sheet for a backlight unit includes a lower layer(301), a first middle layer(302), a second middle layer(303), and an upper layer(304). The first middle layer is laminated on the lower layer. Plural column-like prism shapes are formed to be parallel to each other on an upper surface of the first middle layer. The second middle layer is laminated on the first middle layer. The upper layer is laminated on the second middle layer. An air layer(305) is formed between a lower surface of the second middle layer and a groove portion of the prism shape formed on the first middle layer.
