A ring gear includes a third set of gear teeth 60 and fourth set of gear teeth 64 with helix angles having mutually oppositely directed helices. Each planetary pinion includes a fifth set of gear teeth 50 and a sixth set of gear teeth 52 formed as a single unit with helix angles having mutually oppositely directed helices.

The module can be retro-fitted to the door mirror unit on either side of a vehicle with minimum deformation of the door mirror units on both sides of the vehicle.
