    • A distance measuring device includes first and second cameras, first and second Fourier pattern data generating sections, a pattern processing section, and a distance measuring section. The two cameras are spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance. The first Fourier pattern data generating section generates first two-dimensional Fourier pattern data by performing two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform for image data picked up by the first camera as first pattern data. The second Fourier pattern data generating section generates second Fourier two-dimensional pattern data by performing two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform for image data picked up by the second camera as second pattern data. The pattern processing section synthesizes the first and second Fourier two-dimensional pattern data, and performs either two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform or two-dimensional discrete inverse Fourier transform for the synthesized data. The distance measuring section obtains a correlation peak in a range excluding a portion near a reference position in a correlation component area appearing in the synthesized Fourier two-dimensional pattern data, and measures the distance to a target on the basis of the distance from a reference position in the correlation component area to the position of the correlation peak.

    • A laser scanning optical microscope comprises a laser light source which focuses a laser beam to a small spot through an objective optical system, and the laser beam is projected along a light path onto a specimen while also being scanned two-dimensionally. A first scanning device scans the specimen in a first direction with a first scanning frequency. A second scanning device scans the specimen in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction with a second scanning frequency lower than the first frequency. A third scanning device scans the specimen in third direction parallel to the first direction at a third frequency lower than the first and second frequencies. A light receiving element receives light reflected or transmitted by the scanned specimen and produces a photoelectric signal. A signal processing device converts the photoelectric signal to a signal capable of being monitored on a monitor having a television scanning line system with predetermined horizontal and vertical scanning frequencies corresponding to the second and third scanning directions.

    • A system for automatically managing information about printed-circuit boards includes a data file for storing stock information about the printed-circuit boards stocked in a warehouse, mounting information showing mounting positions of the printed-circuit boards on shelves of equipments, and mounting history information showing results of mounting of the printed-circuit boards. A mounting processing part outputs to the mounting section a mounting instruction which instructs the printed-circuit boards delivered from the warehouse to be placed in predetermined positions in the ordered equipment by referring to the mounting information stored in the data file. A mounting information gathering part gathers the mounting history information about the printed-circuit boards placed in the predetermined positions. An output part outputs at least the mounting history information to an output equipment.
