    • There is provided a hydraulic shock absorber including a spring receiver that is supported so as to be not rotatable with respect to the axle bracket. The spring receiver is divided into a spring receiver base portion that has an outer diameter smaller than an inner periphery of an axle-side tube, and a spring receiver cylindrical portion that is inserted into an inner periphery of the axle-side tube and a suspension spring is seated thereon.     • A shock absorber having a valve controlling the flow rate of fluid between a compression chamber and a rebound chamber in a housing and separated by a piston. The valve has an orifice component and a blocker component, one of which has a permanent magnet, and the other of which has a magnetically permeable material. Upon the application of sufficient fluid pressure, the blocker component is forced away from the orifice component, despite the magnetic bias that tends to attract the two structures. Because the magnetic force decreases as the two components are spaced farther apart, the shock absorber has excellent performance characteristics. Alternatively, a mechanical spring urges the blocker closed, and magnetic attraction between the blocker and a spaced opener mitigates the increased force of the compressed spring tending to close the valve.

    • A control structure for a shock absorber that comprises: a base, a control assembly, and a moving assembly. The control assembly controls the motion of the moving assembly and is moved by a steel cable. A control member and a returning spring of the control assembly serve to control the motion of the moving assembly. The steel cable drives the control member to move, and the returning spring provides an elastic force for returning the relative components to their original positions. The shock absorber is defined with a working space for reception of the moving assembly. The moving assembly is provided with sliding members, and is formed with slopes form cooperating with the sliding members. When the control member drives the moving assembly to move, the pushing member of the moving assembly will push the sliding members from the deep portion to the shallow portion of the moving member, thus making the pushing rod move.

    • A shock absorber for a vehicle suspension includes a pneumatic actuator that is fluidly connected to a compressed air source in the vehicle suspension, such as a suspension air bag. The pneumatic actuator cooperates with an adjustment mechanism housed within the shock absorber to adjust damping. The shock absorber includes a main rod that supports a piston for axial movement within a cylinder body. The piston separates the cylinder body into first and second fluid chambers. The adjustment mechanism includes an adjustment rod that is received within an axial bore formed within the main rod. The adjustment rod is axially moved within the axial bore by the pneumatic actuator to uncover and cover a plurality of bores that are in fluid communication with at least one of the first and second fluid chambers. The pneumatic actuator includes a plunger having a tapered surface that engages the adjuster rod to move the adjuster rod in a desired direction to adjust damping. A fitting and a restrictor plug cooperate to fluidly connect the pneumatic actuator to the compressed air source and to meter air flow to attenuate pressure spikes.

    • An arrangement forms part of a shock absorber (1) and is intended to produce distinct longitudinal displacements of an element (7) in response to longitudinal displacements of a screw (15). The displacement directions of the screw and the element diverge and the displacement of the element is designed to occur against the action of a force (14) on the element. The screw is designed with a tapered or inclined surface (17) and the element, or a part related thereto, is pressed against the surface by the said force (14). Interacting sections of the surface and the element, or the part, are designed with structures that produce the said distinct longitudinal displacement positions of the element when acted upon by the member. In this way the element actuation function and that of producing the distinct positions can be incorporated into a relatively simple and compact construction.
