    • PURPOSE:To accomplish optimal control on the engine operation with ease by use of an electric control circuit to which an output signal of a single temperature sensor is afforded as an input signal, in the manner that a choke valve and the idling speed of an engine are interrelated with each other. CONSTITUTION:A carburetor 1 comprises a choke valve 4 opened through deformation of a bimetal 3 that is caused by the heating of a heater 2 and a throttle valve 5 that is opened according to the depth of depression of an accelerator pedal. Further, the carburetor 1 comprises a throttle actuator 8 with an idling speed sensor 7 which controls the valve opening position of the throttle valve 5 at a desired position where the throttle valve 5 is not complately closed, according to the idling speed of an engine. In an electric control circuit 18, output signals of an engine-speed sensor 14 and an engine-temperature sensor 15 are furnished to a central processing unit CPU. Current supplied to the throttle actuator 8 and a heater 2 is controlled by the output signal of the central processing unit CPU.

    • Provided is a temperature sensitive actuator attaching structure wherein the ease of attachment is improved. A heat generating element (51) generates heat by energizing a temperature sensitive actuator (2) via conducting terminals (41, 42). The generated heat expands a wax (W) to project a piston (21), and an elastic member (23) biases the piston (21) in a direction opposite to the projecting direction. In order to attach the temperature sensitive actuator (2) to an attachment portion (11) of an object member (1), fixing protrusions (41a) are provided in the conducting terminal (41) of the temperature sensitive actuator (2), and receiving portions (14) which can receive the fixing protrusions (41a) in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the piston (21) are provided in the attachment portion (11). The temperature sensitive actuator (2) is attached to the object member (1) by inserting the fixing protrusions (41a) into the receiving portions (14).

    • A power cutter including a housing; a two stroke internal combustion engine mounted within the housing; a throttle switch by which the engine can be accelerated when the engine is running; a support arm mounted on the housing and which projects forward of the housing. A blade mounting mechanism is rotatably mounted on the end of the support arm and is capable of being rotationally driven by the engine when the engine is running. A carburetor provides aerated fuel for the engine and an air intake provides air for the carburetor. An air filtration mechanism filters the air drawn in from the air intake for the carburetor. A fuel tank provides fuel to the carburetor. An exhaust is provided through which the exhaust gases generated by the operation of the engine are expelled from the engine. The power cutter also includes an engine controller that controls the operation of the engine; an oil tank that provides lubricating oil for the engine; an oil pump that pumps lubricating oil from the oil tank to mix it with fuel; and a sensing system that determines whether sufficient lubricating oil is being provided for mixing with the fuel in accordance with predetermined parameters. The sensing system provides an indication to the engine controller of when the lubricating oil is not being provided in accordance with the predetermined parameters. When the sensing system indicates that the lubricating oil is not being provided in accordance with the predetermined parameters, the engine controller places the engine either in an idle mode or switches it off.

    • An electrically-operated automatic choke system of a carburetor includes a choke valve connected to a choke valve closure spring that urges the choke valve in a direction to close it. A wax-type temperature sensitive actuating device is coupled to the carburetor to receive heat generated by an engine. A piston member of the device faces a pivoting member coupled to the choke valve and makes contact with, or moves away from, the pivoting member on a pivoting path to the closed side of the choke valve. While the engine has stopped running, closure of the choke valve by the choke valve closure spring is restricted according to the amount the piston member protrudes.

    • A carburetor throttle valve actuation assembly for a combustion engine is readily adapted for use as a remote control actuator, a local control throttle actuator, or both together providing an optional choice for the end user. The carburetor has a throttle valve having a shaft journaled to a body for movement about a rotation axis. A slave lever connects rigidly to a distal end of the shaft projecting outward from the body. A connection spaced radially outward from the axis engages the slave lever to a radially projecting swivel member of a local, manually operated, throttle valve actuation assembly. The swivel member rotates in unison with the slave lever about the axis, is spaced axially outward from the shaft and is journaled to a bracket engaged rigidly to the body. Preferably, the connection has a hole in the slave lever. If the remote throttle control actuator is used, a Bowden wire engages to a pin projecting axially outward from the slave lever at the hole. If the local throttle control actuator is used either a cylindrical void carried by the swivel member mates to the pin, or a peg projecting outward from the swivel member and toward the body is inserted into the hole forming the connection that permits axial movement of the slave lever with respect to the swivel member.
