    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head gasket for maintaining good sealing performance for a long period.
      SOLUTION: The cylinder head gasket 1 comprises at least one first seal plate 11 to be held between a cylinder head 2 and a cylinder block 3 having a cylinder bore 4. The first seal plate has an uneven porion 11b formed ranging over between a position on the side of a combustion chamber hole beyond at least an opening portion of a water jacket 5 and a position beyond an edge 5a of the opening portion on the side of the combustion chamber hole while being protruded on the surface and reverse of the first seal plate. When the cylinder head gasket 1 is held between the cylinder head 2 and the cylinder block 3, the uneven portion 11b is locked to the edge 5a. Thus, the uneven portion 11b can firmly lock the cylinder head and the cylinder block to each other and its locking force can suppress the deformation of the cylinder block due to the explosive pressure of an engine, thereby preventing the degradation of sealing performance and reducing the consumption of oil.
