Date Feb. 21, 1991.The device for monitoring functions of control devices of a motor vehicle includes a single monitoring indicator; monitoring signal devices in each control device which generate a monitoring signal characteristic of their operation; a driver stage for controlling the single monitoring indicator located in a central control device; a device for controlling the monitoring signal devices so that monitoring signals are produced, advantageously one after the other, in response to a switch-on signal; a device for producing the switch-on signal such as an ignition device, and at least one line to which each control device is connected so that, when the monitoring signal is produced, the monitoring signal thus produced is transmitted to the central control device including the driver stage and the driver stage controls the single monitoring indicator according to the monitoring signal so produced. In preferred embodiments the duration and/or signal interval of the monitoring signal is characteristic of the control device from which it originates.

    • PURPOSE:To attain independent or parallel related control, by providing plural sets of microprocessors that perform the control or display of an engine, etc. which is mounted on a car and having a virtually signal unit of main microprocessor to control the above-mentioned microprocessors. CONSTITUTION:Plural follower electronic controllers S1-Sn are connected to a bus B, and a main microprocessor CPU(M) and a main storage circuit MEM(M) are connected to the bus B. For instance, the controller S1 controls the timing of an engine, and the detected D electric signal is fetched to a microprocessor CPU(S) via an input/output interface I/O to receive an arithmetic process with connection of the circuit MEM(S). Thus an actuator A is controlled. The controllers S2, S3 and Sn control the starting system, the control system and the alarm display system of the engine, respectively. These controllers receive an integrated control from the CPU(M) to perform independent and parallel control as well as cooperative control with reception of the related information.
