    • A method for an explosion welding process to form composite pipes, such as for nuclear power equipment. The explosive welding process includes: (1) An explosives preparation method in which low detonation velocity explosives are produced by using powdery emulsion explosives as a base. The base is mixed completely and evenly with a certain amount of powdered pearl salt, wherein the size of pearl salt particle is 100-200 mesh, and the ratio of emulsion explosives versus pearl salt is between about 3-5:1. (2) An experimental formula for determining the diameter gap between an inner lining tube and its base tube, which is s=ε·r or s=kε·r. and (3) A method of inhibiting the negative influence on welding quality caused by the gap between a base tube and a mold, wherein: the roughness of the base tube outer surface is kept less than that of the mold's inner surface, with the difference in surface roughness being maintained within two-grades. In certain cases, a layer of 1.0±0.1 mm copper may be added between the outer wall of a base tube and the inner wall of the mold. By using this explosion welding process on composite pipes, the percentage of successful welding reaches 100%, the bonded interface demonstrates micro-wave shape with high quality, and the plastic deformation of the inner tube is under reasonable control.

    • The present invention provides for a system and method for identifying optimal marketing offers in a mass marketing campaign. An optimal offer for a particular prospect at a particular time in the multi-wave campaign is determined. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, offer information is initially collected for each of the various offers tagged for potential inclusion into a. Each offer is analyzed to determine its eligibility for inclusion in a marketing campaign to a particular household or individual prospect within a household. A systematic evaluation of eligibility applies a plurality of predetermined criteria to each offer on a household level, a prospect level and an offer level. In this manner, offers failing such criteria may be easily removed from inclusion in the campaign. A net present value (NPV) and a net response rate may be calculated for each eligible offer to identify one or more optimal marketing offers.
