    • The shut-off or throttle valve described has a housing (12), through which a flow channel passes, and a flap (18) which can be rotated about a spindle (20) passing across a section through the flow channel. The flap (18) is in the closed position when it is disposed in a plane including the spindle and running at right angles to the direction of flow in the channel. All round the plane of the flap (18), a gap is maintained, in all positions of the flap, between the edge of the flap and the housing (12) such that the gap is not reduced to zero by the thermal expansion expected to occur during operation. The housing (12) is fitted with stop strips (34, 36) which act as seals for the faces of the flap (18) at the edges on its periphery. The surface of the flap is divided by the spindle (20) into two areas. Associated with each area is a stop strip (34, 36) on the housing (12) and extending up to the spindle on each area, these two stop strips (34, 36) being located on opposite sides of the flap (18).

    • The present invention relates to a control System (28) of at least one flap (24) of a fluid duct (22), in particular of an intake System (10), in particular of an internal combustion engine, in particular of a motor vehicle, and a fluid duct System. At least one swivel axis (26) is connected off-centered to the at least one flap (24). By the at least one swivel axis (26) the at least one flap (24) can be swiveled in the fluid duct (22) between positions with different degrees of opening. At least one swivel lever (30) is connected to the at least one swivel axis (26) for pivoting the at least one swivel axis (26). At least one elastic working return element (46) is connected directly or indirectly to the at least one swivel lever (30). The at least one return element (46) forces the at least one flap (24) toward a home position. An actuating lever (36) is mounted to a housing part of the fluid duct (22) swiveling round a rotation axis (38). The actuating lever (36) is mounted to the swivel lever (30) swiveling round a connection axis (32). The actuating lever (36) has a working surface (44) in which the at least one return element (46) applies to the actuating lever (36). The rotation axis (38), the connection axis (32) and the swivel axis (26) are parallel to each other. A distance (42) radial to at least one of the respective axis (32, 38) between the rotation axis (38) and the connection axis (32) and/or between the swivel axis and the connection axis and/or the working surface (44) and the connection axis (32) and/or between the working surface and the rotation axis is varying dependent on the opening/closing position of the at least one flap (24).
