摘要： A method of preparing a stabilized fuel slurry is disclosed wherein a petroleum fuel oil is mixed with "run of the mine" coal and with a polysaccharide emulsifier capable of forming water internal-oil high external phase emulsion. The slurry is mechanically mixed to comminute the coal to produce a stabilized fuel slurry with coal particles having diameters as large as about 1/4 inch. The slurry is injected through lances into a blast furnace, the lances provided concentric streams of slurry and steam. The slurry may also be used in other fuel burning furnaces such as boilers, cement kilns, etc.

摘要： This invention relates to the preparation and use of a novel emulsifier for use in formulating storage stable coal and oil fuel mixtures. The stabilizer is prepared by reacting blends of unsaturated aliphatic and cycloaliphatic carboxylic acids with alkali metal hydroxides or amines. This stabilizing emulsifier allows for the preparation of coal and oil fuel mixtures containing up to 50 parts by weight of coal which possess superior storage stability over wide temperature ranges without the coal settling out, which undergo clean combustion thus reducing the increased air pollution normally associated with the combustion of coal or coal containing fuels and which may be used in conventional oil burning furnaces with a minimum of modification.

摘要： A petroleum derived oil is subjected to propane deasphalting to yield a solid asphaltene residue. The residue is crushed to 425 micron diameter particle or less at a crushing temperature in the range of 77°F to 122°F. The asphaltene particles are suspended in a residual petroleum oil emulsion. The resulting suspension comprises 5 wt% to 40 wt% asphaltene particles. The 40 wt% asphaltene suspensions are boiler fuel. The 5 wt% asphaltene suspensions are gasified with a deficit of oxygen to produce synthesis gas. The suspensions are stable and transportable by pumping through a pipeline.

摘要： The invention relates to the technology of reprocessing industrial and domestic waste. The problem addressed by the invention is that of reducing energy consumption and the quantity of toxic waste which enters the environment when rubber waste is reprocessed. This problem is solved by the use of superheated steam for the pyrolysis of the waste material. This method is novel in that superheated steam, amounting to between 18 and 110 per cent of the mass of the rubber waste, is used as the heat carrier, the gaseous products of pyrolysis are condensed together with the steam, and the condensate thus obtained is mixed with the solid residue which has first undergone preliminary grinding to produce particles of between 0.001 and 0.210 mm in size. The quantity of solid residue in the mixture is set at between 23 and 55.8 per cent of the total mass of the mixture. This process results in the production of a liquid fuel with improved environmental characteristics.
