    • A note pad is attached to a device having a handle and a base. Kinetic force is applied through the device to stun or crush a target pest between a top sheet of the note pad and a wall or floor. The top sheet does not have previously applied adhesive for trapping insects, and hence does not generally adhere to the wall or floor. Some sheets bear indicia, such as the likeness of an unpopular public figure or other target of mockery. After a pest is smashed onto it, smearing indicia, the sheet can be removed, wrapped around the target's remains, and placed in a wastebasket for disposal. The device may be provided alone, or it may be provided together with a note pad, or it may be provided with a note pad and with a stamp or stickers for placing target likenesses on the note pad sheets.

    • A device for capturing insects comprises a housing (10) with a capturing opening (11) and comprises an immobilizing device for at least temporarily immobilizing the insects. Captured insects are kept in a collecting device (13) for collecting and retaining after they have passed through the capturing opening (11). Insects can be captured in a simple and convenient manner by virtue of the fact that a capturing area, which can be influenced at least temporarily by the immobilizing device, is provided outside of the device having the associated capturing space (14) in order to bring the insects from this capturing space to the collecting device (13) via the capturing opening, and that the immobilizing device is formed by at least one light source (12) for blinding the insects. After switching on the immobilizing device, the capturing space must be merely placed over the insect so that the insect then enters the collecting device (13).

    • A tool for catching, holding, transporting and releasing insects provides two elongate crossing body elements pivotally interconnected in their medial crossing portions with looped rearward handles and similar forward opposed jaws each carrying end portions of a flexibly resilient pad extending between the jaws to form a pocket when the jaws are closed. The resilient pad is releasably interconnected to the jaws so that it may be replaced.     • An insect stopping and capturing device, comprising a handle with a compression chamber at one end of the handle. A shaft extends through the handle into the compression chamber where a soft head is attached to the shaft, the soft head larger than the diameter of the compression chamber. A hand grip is attached to the shaft opposite the compression chamber. From a comfortable distance, the user positions the soft head over a crawling or stationary insect. The hand grip is pulled away from the compression chamber to draw the soft head into the compression chamber to wrap the soft head around the insect as the head is being compressed. The insect can then be released outdoors by pushing the hand grip, which in turn ejects the insect. The insect may also be terminated by simply placing the compression chamber against a hard surface and then pushing the hand grip toward the surface. The head is compressed against the surface, crushing the insect contained therein. The user then lifts the device from the ground, and ejects the crushed insect remains.

    • An insect capturing device comprising a pair of elongate longitudinal members pivotally connected together at a point along their length to pivot relative to one another in a scissors fashion about the point of connection with handles at one end and a pair of foraminous cup-shaped members secured in opposed relation at the ends opposite the handles. The cup-shaped members are moved by the longitudinal members between an open position spaced a distance apart and a closed position where they are brought face to face to form an enclosure for capturing an insect therein. The open ends of the cup-shaped members are configured to facilitate secure engagement in the closed position and prevent accidental opening to allow the user to release the handle and still maintain the cup-shaped members in the closed position. In one embodiment, a magnetic ring or flange surrounds the open ends of the cup-shaped members causing the cup-shaped members to be attracted toward one another when in close proximity and to snap together to assume the closed position. In another embodiment, a fabric type fastener surrounds the open ends of the cup-shaped members. The device may also be used as a toy or novelty item to transform the capturing of flies and other insects into a sport of skill and amusement.

    • The present invention is an improved bug catcher which enables a person to capture an insect without killing or injuring it in order that he may set the insect free outdoors. The improved bug catcher includes a platform member and a semispherical member which is mechanically adapted to be enclosed by the platform member. The improved bug catcher also includes a first elongated member which is mechanically coupled to the platform member at one end and a second elongated member which is mechanically coupled to the semispherical member at one end. The improved bug catcher further includes a hinge which pivotally couples the ends of the two elongated members which are oppositely disposed to the ends thereof to the platform member and the semispherical member. The semispherical member is generally formed from a clear plastic in order to allow the person to view the entrapped insect. The hinge includes a spring which is mechanically coupled to the two elongated members in order to spring bias them so that they will separate when the person releases them. The platform member may be a solid rectangular member or a rectangular piece of wire screen mesh which is adapted so that the person may trap an insect in the sand outdoors.
