    • In a solenoid apparatus, first and second cylindrical holding parts respectively have first and second opening parts. One flange part is provided with first and second notch portions. In an exciting coil, one line end portion is held by the first cylindrical holding part, and is bent immediately after the one line end portion is pulled from the first notch portion to the inside of the flange part. A line member is wound around a winding drum part toward the other side in the circumferential direction opposed to the opening direction of the first opening part and is wound a predetermined number of turns. Thereafter, the other line end portion is bent in the axial direction immediately in front of the second notch portion and is pulled out from the second notch portion to the outside of the flange part, and is then held by the second cylindrical holding part.

    • Terminal-bolts and a fixed contact are formed with different kinds of metals, and fixed to a fixing hole formed in the fixed contact by press fitting one end of the terminal-bolts. A plurality of concavo-convex parts is provided on a surface of the fixed contact that faces the movable contact. A plurality of concavo-convex portions is provided on another surface of the fixed contact that faces an anti movable-contact side. The concavo-convex portions are arranged so that positions of concave parts of the concavo-convex portions match positions of convex parts of the concavo-convex portions provided in the opposite surface of the fixed contact. The concavo-convex parts are at least partly curved, and have the same height and project in a height direction from the fixed contact.

    • In a solenoid switch according to the invention, a magnetic plate is disposed on one side of a solenoid coil in an axial direction of the solenoid coil. A contact cover is arranged with the magnetic plate interposed between the contact cover and the solenoid coil in the axial direction. First and second fixed contacts are received in the contact cover and respectively electrically connected to first and second terminals that are to be electrically connected to an electric circuit. A resistor is electrically connected between the first and second terminals to limit current flowing through the electric circuit when the first and second fixed contacts are electrically disconnected by a movable contact. The resistor is received in the contact cover and interposed between the magnetic plate and the first and second fixed contacts in the axial direction.

    • A carbon brush composed of a brush body and a lead wire is used for supplying electric current to a rotor of a rotary electric machine. The lead wire is made by twisting many thin wire elements each having a diameter smaller than 0.05 mm. A cross-section of the lead wire is made larger than 3 mm2 to give the lead wire a sufficient current capacity. Strength of the lead wire against vibration is improved by using a large number of thin wire elements without sacrificing flexibility. Preferably, a margin length between both ends of the lead wire is provided to allow the lead wire to smoothly follow movements of the brush body slidably contacting a commutator. An amount of a flexure of the lead wire due to the margin length is predetermined so that a stress applied to the wire element does not exceed its permissible fatigue limit.
