    • A hydraulic brake system is described including a brake slip and/or traction slip control, wherein a pump required herefor is connected in series into the brake conduit through which, in a normal deceleration process, pressure fluid is displaced from the master brake cylinder to the wheel brake. The pump is mounted so that the intake side thereof is in communication with the master brake cylinder and the pressure side thereof is in communication with the wheel brake. Upon commencement of a slip control, the pump drive is turned on. As the master cylinder pressure prevails on the intake side of the pump the pump can very quickly reach the full discharge capacity, thereby enhancing control response of the slip. Moreover, the risk of air being sucked into the brake system is reduced.

The core (53) of the Bowden cable (54) is connected with the diaphragm plate (52) of the vacuum brake power booster. The core (53) moves the trigger cam (64). The switch (18) is actuated by the movement of the trigger cam (64).

    • To control the pressure at the outlet of a pump and to position the pedal during a brake slip control action, an additional arrangement is provided to an existing master brake cylinder which arrangement comprises a transmission piston (5) as well as a shut-off valve (30). The closure member of the shut-off valve is loaded by way of a valve piston (28) and by the pressure in the brake line (18') in opposition to the pressure at the outlet of the pump. The valve closure member is thus pressure-balanced so that no forces are transmitted onto the tappet (37). Therefore, the ramp (40) at the transition piston (5) need not be separately hardened during the manufacturing process.

    • A system for operating the auxiliary pumps (57, 58) of an anti-locking control system is provided. The movements of the working pistons (63, 64), the pressures prevailing in the pressure chambers (71, 72) of the tandem master cylinder (18) of the ALC-system and the speed of the driving motor (55) of the pump are sensed. These sensor signals and the volume requirement-indicating signals determined in accordance with control algorithms (volume patterns) as stored in the electronic controller (54), are processed in an electromotor controller (55) into output signals for the control of the motor. In this manner, the delivery volumes of the pump are varied. Through variation of the delivery volumes, a positioning of the brake pedal at least to its initial position thereof is achieved. Standard-type master cylinders comprising breather bore systems may be suitably employed.

    • An anti-lock brake system with traction slip control includes a pedal-actuated, auxiliary-force-assisted braking pressure generator having a master cylinder to which the wheel brakes are connected by main brake lines, auxiliary-pressure hydraulic pumps, wheel sensors and electronic circuits for determining the wheel rotational behavior and for generating electric braking-pressure control signals which, for the purpose of brake slip control, serve to control electromagnetically actuatable pressure-fluid inlet valves and outlet valves provided in the pressure-fluid lines. Pistons of the master cylinder include central control valves which, in the brake's release position, open pressure-fluid connections between the pressure-fluid supply reservior and the pressure chambers and which, in the braking position, close the pressure-fluid connections. The brake lines communicate through supply lines with the pumps. Valves are provided in the pressure-fluid lines connecting the master cylinder to the pressure-fluid supply reservoir and prevent return flow of the pressure fluid out of the pressure chambers of the master cylinder when traction slip control is performed.
