    • A sealed compressor for use in an air conditioner or a refrigerator. The sealed compressor has an electrically driving portion which includes a rotor having a dust reservoir for collecting and storing dust or the like, which reservoir is formed in the central part of the rotor. Further, the dust reservoir is connected to a through hole, in which lubricating oil flows, of a driving shaft through a horizontal hole. Thus, dust contained in lubricating oil are moved outward by centrifugal force. Further, when dust enter the dust reservoir, such dusts are stored therein. Furthermore, the stored dust cannot get out of the dust reservoir. As the result, dust contained in the lubricating oil can be prevented from getting into the sliding portion. Moreover, the sliding portion can be prevented from being damaged by dust contained in the lubricating oil. Consequently, a sealed compressor with high reliability can be provided.

    • In a scroll-type compressor, the revolving motion drive shaft 16, formed on the revolving end plate 12 at the side opposite to the revolving swirl blades 11, is fitted in an eccentric bearing eccentrically disposed inside of the main shaft of the crank shaft 6. The crank shaft 6 is connected to the rotor of the electric motor and is supported at the end portion thereof opposite to the main shaft by an upper bearing of a rolling type. Above the upper bearing, a rise preventing plate 24 for preventing the crank shaft 6 from excessively rising upwards is arranged in a fixed manner. The crank shaft 6 is so shaped as to have a stepped portion where the diameter of the shaft portion mounting the rotor 5 becomes stepwise greater than that of the shaft portion fitted in the upper bearing 21. Between the stepped portion and the inner race of the upper bearing 21 is provided an elastic member 26 which can be wave shaped. Between the rise preventing plate 24 and the end portion of the crank shaft 6 opposite to the main shaft of the crank shaft 6 a narrow clearance is maintained. By applying an elastic force of the elastic member 26 on the inner race of the upper bearing in the axial direction, abnormal noises from the bearing caused by axial vibrations and resonances of the shaft system can be prevented.

    • Method of automatic doffing in a spinning unit is disclosed. Automatic doffing apparatus for use in practicing the method includes a bobbin loading device for carrying an empty bobbin to a donning position in the spinning unit, and the loading device has a pushing member which is movable with the loader. As the package is released from a bobbin holder and then supported adjacently to the bobbin holder, the loading device is moved forwardly toward the donning position. On the way to the donning position, the loading device pushes the supported package away from the donning area with its pushing member. The bobbin brought to a donning position is held by the bobbin holder. According to the method, unloading of a package and loading of an empty bobbin is made by a single motion, or advancing, of the bobbin loading device.

    • Method and apparatus for supplying vacuum to a serving device which travels along a multi-station parent textile machine such as a spinning frame and providing a servicing operation such as yarn piecing or package doffing to the stations of the parent machine are disclosed, wherein a vacuum duct, which has vacuum outlet openings corresponding to the individual stations of the machine and lids rotatably supported for closing the vacuum outlet openings, is arranged along the parent machine and the servicing device includes a nozzle which takes in vacuum from the duct. The nozzle is advanced toward the vacuum duct just before the servicing device reaches a station which calls for the servicing, and the end of the nozzle rotates the lid to uncover its vacuum outlet opening and then is stopped in alignment with the opening. Then, the nozzle is moved with the servicing device to rotate the lid thereby closing the outlet opening, whereafter it is retracted to its original position. Thus, the vacuum outlet opening is uncovered by the lid only when necessary vacuum is being supplied, with the result that good airtightness may be maintained and loss of vacuum reduced to a minimum.
