    • A display-driver data line driving device includes a multichannel shift resistor and divided data lines to accommodate a display panel with various levels of resolution and reduce power consumption. The data line driving device includes a first display latch portion (L1 to L6) latching data supplied via a divided data line DL1 with a shift pulse outputted from a first shift resistor (S1 to S6), a second display latch portion (L7 to L12) latching data supplied via a divided data line DL2 with a shift pulse outputted from a second shift resistor (S7 to S12), a third shift resistor 21 sending a shift pulse shifted by the first shift resistor to the second shift resistor, and selector circuits changing a channel between the first shift resistor and the third shift resistor 21 and a channel between the third shift resistor 21 and the second shift resistor. The third shift resistor is used to control the start and stop of the drive of the data lines.

    • An onboard-equipment control apparatus controls activation of an onboard apparatus such as an air conditioner and termination of the operation of the onboard apparatus in order to prevent an onboard battery from running out of residual electric charge in advance. Upon detection of a state in which an onboard radio apparatus is not capable of receiving a termination command from a cellular phone or the cellular phone is not capable of transmitting a termination command to the onboard radio apparatus while the air conditioner is in operation, the onboard-equipment control apparatus forcibly terminates the operation of the air conditioner even before a termination condition is satisfied. Thus, the onboard battery can be prevented in advance from running out of accumulated electric charge required for operating the activated air conditioner thereafter.

    • An organic electroluminescent display device includes scanning lines, signal lines, and pixels formed in a matrix, each pixel being at an intersection of each of the scanning lines and each of the signal lines. Each pixel includes a light-emitting element, a light-emitting circuit composed of a thin-film transistor, and a light-receiving circuit composed of a thin-film transistor. When the light-emitting circuit is selected by the scanning line, the light-emitting circuit drives the light-emitting element according to a video signal that is input from the signal line, thereby displaying an image on the pixels formed in the matrix. The light-receiving circuit is selected in a period of time during which the light-emitting circuit does not operate, and outputs a light-receiving signal in accordance with the amount of light incident on the pixel to a different signal line.
