    • PURPOSE:To suppress unsharpening, distortion and moire by separating a color signal into two signals, recording the one signal by a low frequency conversion chrominance signal recording system, superimposing the other signal onto a luminance signal and recording the superimposed signal by the FM modulation direct recording system. CONSTITUTION:A chrominance carrier signal inputted from an ACC circuit 1 is band-limited by a band pass filter 3, the result is fed to a frequency conversion circuit 4 and fed to a subtractor circuit 51. The circuit 51 subtracts a signal at a narrow band from a filter 3 from the chrominance carrier signal inputted from the circuit 1 to generate a high frequency chrominance signal. The high frequency signal is subject to amplitude limit by an amplitude filter 2' and the result is fed to an adder circuit 19, then the resulting signal is superimposed on a luminance signal and FM-modulated. Only a small amplitude signal is separated by the amplitude filter 2' and no large amplitude signal is used. Thus, part of information is lost from the high frequency and large amplitude signal such as a contour signal with high saturation color, but since it is corrected by an edge enhancer of the reproduction system, there is no problem. Since the amplitude of the color signal is limited by the filter 2', no effect is caused on the luminance signal. Moreover, since a low frequency color signal is all recorded independently of its amplitude, the signal is reproduced by a conventional reproducing device, which offers complete compatibility.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain excellent correction effect by using a signal just after and just before the start so as to replace a signal changing at a contour part with them. CONSTITUTION:A video signal input A inputted from an analog input terminal 10 is differentiated by a differentiating circuit 2 and a waveform B is obtained by taking the absolute value of the differentiated signal. Moreover, a waveform C is obtained by differentiating the waveform B by a differentiating circuit 4. The waveform C has a positive value from the change start point of the signal till the middle of the contour (before the displacement) among the video contour of the video image and has a negative value from the middle till the end point of the change (after the displacement). The signal is compared with a prescribed threshold level shown in dotted lines in the waveform C. The waveform C is detected by a waveform shaping circuit S to obtain detection signal waveforms D, E and when the positive value is discriminated from the contour part by using the waveform D and the negative waveform E, the position of the contour and the width are coded and the result is recorded in a memory 6 together with a video signal from a delay circuit 12 as contour detection information. Thus, color blurring and fog are improved.

    • PURPOSE:To attain excellent contour correction by feeding back a value just before and just after a change in the signal in the first half and the latter half of the contour information respectively to a current signal and a contour part signal. CONSTITUTION:A waveform E retarding a waveform D obtained by N-bit further from N-bit delay of a waveform B shown in the first half of a contour line is obtained. A waveform F is obtained by applying 2N-bit delay to an input signal waveform A. Both D, F signals are inputted to an edge processing circuit 3. A coefficient control circuit 47 sets a coefficient KE to 1 for a period when an input signal is at a high level and the coefficient to 0 for a period of low level. When the coefficient KE is 1, an output of a delay circuit 46 is an output of an adder 45 as it is and inputted again to the circuit 46. That is, the output signal at a terminal 48 keeps the value just before the coefficient control signal reaches a high level for a high level period. Thus, the waveform F passing through the circuit 3 becomes a waveform G. Then excellent contour correction is attained.

    • PURPOSE:To attain contour correction and time axis conversion at the same time by using a means generating a clock synchronously with an external video signal coupling with an input video signal synchronizingly so as to convert a time axis and detecting the contour information of an input video signal so as to change locally the period of a write or a readout clock. CONSTITUTION:A voltage controlling the oscillating frequency of a voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) 7 is a voltage resulting from the addition of a voltage in response to a change in an input signal to an output voltage of a phase comparator circuit 8 and a clock with a different period from that of a readout clock is obtained locally as a frequency of the write clock. Then a control voltage superimposed with an AC voltage reflecting its contour component is fed to the VCO 7 resulting that the period of a generated clock is changed at the contour part. Thus, the data interval of the contour part is subjected to time compression at the write and the contour correction effect making the waveform of the contour part steep is obtained and since the write read of the memory are implemented by the clock synchronously with the time fluctuation of the input signal without having any time fluctuation, the time axis is corrected at the same time.
