    • A rotor for an induction motor. The rotor includes a core, a pair of end rings, and a plurality of aluminum conducting members. The core includes a plurality of accommodating holes that are aligned circumferentially in a peripheral portion of the core. The accommodating holes extend from one end surface of the core to the other. The end rings are formed of aluminum alloy. Each of the end rings has a plurality of support holes corresponding to the accommodating holes. The support holes are aligned circumferentially in a peripheral portion of each end ring. The end rings are each disposed at a corresponding one of the opposing ends of the core such that the support holes are opposed to the accommodating holes. Each of the conducting members is received in a corresponding one of the accommodating holes and the associated support holes. Each conducting member is supported by each of the end rings at a support portion located in the corresponding support hole.

    • The washer pump includes a housing and a motor. The motor is accommodated in a motor chamber in the housing. The case of the motor includes a pair of opposed arcuate portions and a pair of opposed flat portions. The flat portions are inward of an imaginary circle circumscribing the motor. An internal passage is formed in the case to connect the interior of the case to the motor chamber. A drain structure is formed in the housing to connect the motor chamber to the exterior of the housing. The drain structure is in radial alignment with one of the flat portions. Also, the drain structure includes first, second, and third passages, which extend in different directions. The internal passage and the drain structure prevent the entrance of water into the washer pump and quickly drain water from the interior of the washer pump.

    • A photometric apparatus of a camera for carrying out a multi-segmented photometry by receiving object light reflected at a film or the shutter includes a plurality of photometric elements which are disposed at positions to respectively receive reflected light from the film or the shutter. Photometric lenses are respectively positioned between the reflection regions and the photometric elements, corresponding to the photometric elements, so as to respectively direct the object lights reflected at the reflection regions to the plurality of photometric elements, and are arranged in parallel so as to restrict incidence of reflected light on the photometric elements from other reflection regions.

    • A windshield washer pump assembly for jetting a rinsing fluid from a fluid tank onto a windshield to assist windshield wiping operation performed by an automotive windshield wiper. The assembly comprises a washer pump comprising a rotatably supported impeller and a generally cylindrical casing having a fluid inlet, defined in an annular end wall thereof, and a fluid outlet defined in opposition to the fluid inlet. The washer pump is secured to a wall of the fluid tank with the fluid inlet positioned inside the fluid tank. The casing is also formed with a partition wall positioned on one side of the annular end wall to define a pump chamber between the annular end wall and the partition wall for operatively accommodating the impeller. The washer pump assembly also comprises a fluid passage communicating the pump chamber and the fluid outlet for a discharge of the fluid medium under pressure during a rotation of the impeller, a filter member having a perforated region of a diameter greater than the bore size of the fluid inlet positioned exteriorly of the fluid inlet with the perforated region aligned with the fluid inlet, and a filter holder for detachably securing the filter member to the second end of the casing.
