    • An inhalation device comprises at least one inhaler for dispensing a dose of a drug to a user inhaling through the inhaler. The inhaler, which contains a supply of drug, has means (21-23) for detecting the dispensation of a dose and means (21-23; 38) for measuring a specific feature of the disease being treated with the drug, e.g. the inhalation air flow of an asthmatic. A processing unit (30), which is integrated in the inhaler or provided as a separate unit, has storage means (34) for storing the specific feature from a plurality of measurements as well as the time of each detected dispensation of a dose. To improve the reliability of information recorded in the processing device (30), the inhalation device further comprises electronically readable identification means (27), which are arranged inseparably from the supply of drug and which contain information enabling identification of at least the kind of drug in the supply and the size of the dose dispensed when a user inhales through the inhaler, and means for delivering said information to the processing unit.

A check valve (30) is associated with the conduit (19) and the chamber (44), which prevents flow from the chamber (44) but permits flow into said chamber through said conduit (19). A process for preparing a pharmaceutical preparation and a method for administration of said preparation with the device are also disclosed.

    • According to the invention there is provided a method of treatment of a finely divided powdered medicament having a particle size smaller than 10 mu m and poor flowing properties to form, in a controlled manner, agglomerates or pellets which are free flowing and which are capable of breaking down to provide the finely divided medicament, comprising the steps of agglomerating the powdered medicament having a particle size being smaller than 10 mu m by feeding the material to a sieve, causing the finely divided powdered medicament to pass through the apertures of the sieve thereby obtaining agglomerates, spheronizing the resulting agglomerates in order to provide agglomerates which are more spherical, more dense and more compact than the agglomerates resulting from the agglomeration process in the sieve, and sizing the agglomerates to obtain a uniform size of the final product. According to the invention there is also provided an apparatus for carrying out the method.
