    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large output by permitting only flow directed to a reduced- diameter main combustion chamber when an expanded-diameter piston having a reduced-diameter piston protruded from the center of a bowl-like recess is in a specified position during a heating stroke and injecting thermal energy produced by combustion in the reduced-diameter main combustion chamber to an expanded-diameter main combustion chamber. SOLUTION: A reduced-diametral piston having a tapered root part 2 is protruded nearly in the center of bowl-like recesses 1 in both ends of a double-head expanded- diametral piston. Then, by reciprocating the double-head expanded-diametral piston in a cylinder, combustion is performed while performing normal exhaustion and scavenging around left and right dead centers. In this case, by the reduced-diametral piston having a noise reducing groove 15 extended obliquely toward a motion direction around the tapered root part 2, a flange-like recessed and projecting part 6 and the wide projecting part of a tip, isolation of a reduced-diametral combustion chamber is started in a compression strohe after the scavenging, then air compressed in an expanded- combustion chamber is injected through an air passage 4 including a check valve 3 and an oblique air passage 14 to the reduced-diametral main combustion chamber and mixed with injection fuel from an injection device 5 to perform combustion.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate rotational unevenness of an air motor by providing two or more driving elements for rotating a rotary shaft without any intermittent stop by a switching valve operated by detecting operation of an outer ring. CONSTITUTION:Motions of driving rods 23, 24 connected to cylinders 33, 34 respectively are detected by limit valves 29 to 32, so that the cylinders 33, 34 are subjected to reciprocating motion by a switching valve. Arms 6, 7 are rotated in a counter clockwise or clockwise direction through shafts 21, 22, arms 10, 11, and pins 8, 9 by reciprocating motions of the driving rods 23, 24. Rotations of outer rings 4, 5 through the arms 6, 7 are transmitted to a rotary shaft 1 at the time of rotating in the counter clockwise direction, and not transmitted to the rotary shaft 1 at the time of rotating in the clockwise direction, by one way clutches 2, 3. It is thus possible to eliminate rotary unevenness, since the rotary shaft 1 is rotated without any intermittent stop.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the production of high driving power with a small-sized rotary engine by a method wherein upper and lower cylinders with a rotor integrally rotated with an output shaft placed therebetween are fitted in a cylindrical outer disc and a driving power force is produced by a variation in capacity of an operating chamber between the rotor and each of the cylinders. CONSTITUTION:This rotary engine includes upper and lower cylinders 12, 5 and a rotor 2 installed between both cylinders 12 and 5 which are stored in a cylindrical outer disc (not shown). The rotor 2 has upper and lower curved cam surfaces, a rotor shaft 3 axially and movably fitted to an output shaft 4 is integrally formed, each of the cylinders 12 and 5 is rotatably fitted to this rotor shaft 3. Each of the cylinders 12, 5 is provided with suction ports 14, 7, discharging ports 15, 8, compression grooves 9, 9 and plugs 11, 11. The cylinders 12, 5 are immovably fixed in respect to the outer disc. In operation, both rotor 2 and the output shaft 4 are integrally rotated and a driving power is generated under a compression and an expansion in the operating chamber between the rotor 2 and each of the cylinders 12, 5.
