In addition to the clamping hook (13; 14), the clamping element (11) comprises a strip-like part with a bent-over strip end designed as hinge hook (34). The slide (7) has a flat end part (9) with a recess (10) into which the hinge hook (34) can be fitted pivotably, but with little play.

    • An improved joint construction for commercial metal doors is disclosed which utilizes a novel force transfer block. The force transfer block has spaced-apart flanges which engage corresponding reglets in a door stile. The inner faces of the flanges bear against the inner walls of the reglets. The flanges of the force transfer block are configured such that they will retain the block on the stile by way of an interference fit with the walls of the reglet. Thus the block does not have to be separately fastened to the stile. A rail abuts the stile and has a recessed portion into which the block is received. A threaded rod extends through the rail and into the stile, and tightening a threaded fastener onto each end of the rod clamps the rail securely between two stiles. The recessed portion of the rail has surfaces bearing snugly against at least two sides of the block such that twisting forces applied to the rail are transferred to the block. Twisting forces transferred to the block from the rail are transferred by the inner faces of the flanges to the inner walls of the reglets.

    • A clamping device for releasably connecting two profile pieces, wherein the first profile piece has an undercut longitudinal groove and the second profile piece has a box-shaped hollow profile, has a clamping piece inserted into the second profile piece. The clamping piece has a hook-shaped head piece and a hammer head for engaging the longitudinal groove of the first profile piece. The hammer head is connected to a free end face of the head piece. The head piece has an inner sidewall with a slanted surface. The slanted surface extends perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the clamping piece. The clamping piece includes a flat drawing piece. The head piece and the drawing piece are displaceable relative to one another in the longitudinal direction of the clamping piece. A clamping screw or an eccentric cooperating with the slanted surface is inserted in the drawing piece and is accessible through an opening in the second profile piece. Tightening of the clamping screw displaces the drawing piece relative to the head piece such that the hammer head is fastened in the longitudinal groove. The clamping piece also has an elastic loop bent around at least 180.degree. and connected between head piece and drawing piece. The clamping piece, including head piece, hammer head, drawing piece, and elastic loop, is a unitary part. The elasticity of the elastic loop is sufficient to disengage the head piece with the hammer head upon releasing the clamping screw or eccentric.

    • A device for attaching an object to a wall comprises a body with a cylindrical head centrally disposed on a base. The head incorporates longitudinal elastic members terminating in hooks. These are adapted to engage on the edges of an opening in the wall into which the head is inserted. A clamping ring mounted on the head is movable along its length. A spring is disposed between the base of the body and the clamping ring. The force exerted by this spring is transmitted to the wall so as to lock the hooks on to the edges of the opening. Cooperating guide means on the clamping ring and on the body are adapted to guide the clamping ring as it moves along the head, simultaneously rotating. Cooperating locking means on the body and on the clamping ring are adapted to lock the clamping ring in a bottom position on the head. The cooperation of the locking means defines a stable armed position of the device, in which the hooks are spaced from the clamping ring to enable the head to be inserted into the opening in the wall. These locking means are then released by pressure on the clamping ring.
