摘要： An apparatus and a method for managing an ESN(Electronic Serial Number) of a mobile terminal are provided to prevent a mobile terminal from being stolen or illegally used by forcing a user to input a password for allowing use of a new ESN. A button unit(110) inputs a password for allowing replacement of a SIM(Subscriber Identity Module) card and a key for releasing an unblocked state, and also inputs a dialing signal. A SIM part(130) provides a specific ESN from the SIM card and phone number information. A storage unit(140) outputs a previously recorded ESN and records/stores a new ESN. A radio unit(150) is wirelessly connected with a base station and transmits/receives a communication signal to/from the base station.
