摘要： A method for introducing microwave energy into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine in which the microwaves reach a combustion chamber through a microwave window, wherein the microwaves are run about a circumference of the combustion chamber and radially coupled into the combustion chamber after passing through the microwave window. Accordingly a device for introducing microwave energy into the combustion chamber of a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine with at least one cylinder with a cylinder head and a combustion chamber in the cylinder includes at least one circumferential annular hollow conductor cavity extending about the combustion chamber and including at least one feed for the microwave and at least one outlet opening for the microwave arranged between the annular hollow conductor cavity and the combustion chamber. An internal combustion engine includes the features of the device.

摘要： Plasma generator has an ignition coil for supplying a discharge voltage, an electromagnetic wave oscillator that generates electromagnetic waves, a mixer that mixes energy for discharge with electromagnetic wave energy, and an ignition plug that causes a discharge and introduces the electromagnetic wave energy to a reaction region. The discharge and electromagnetic wave energy are used together in the reaction region, wherein a combustion reaction or plasma reaction is carried out, triggering a combustion reaction or plasma reaction. Part of a member that constitutes the ignition plug is used as part of a member that forms the mixer.

摘要： An ignition unit improves an air-fuel-ratio, i.e., good mileage and lean burn without changing a gasoline engine structure significantly. The ignition unit comprises a discharge device including a booster and a discharger provided at an output side of the booster, the booster having a resonance structure configured to boost the electromagnetic wave inputted from the electromagnetic wave oscillator so as to cause a discharge from the discharger, and an electromagnetic wave emitter electrically connected to the electromagnetic wave oscillator and configured to emit the electromagnetic wave inputted from the electromagnetic wave oscillator. Moreover, the ignition unit further includes a housing part including a first hole into which the discharge device is inserted and a second hole into which the electromagnetic wave emitter is inserted such that the housing part houses therein both the discharge device and the electromagnetic wave emitter, and the housing part can be inserted into a single hole of a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine.

The band-pass filter passes a frequency of from 1 MHz to 4 MHz.

摘要： The invention relates to a corona ignition device, comprising a center electrode, an insulator surrounding the center electrode, a coil, which is connected to the center electrode, and a housing pipe, in which the coil is arranged. The housing pipe comprises a substrate layer and a conducting layer arranged radially inwardly of the substrate layer. The conducting layer is made of a material having a greater electrical conductivity than the material of the substrate layer. The conducting layer has a thickness of at least 0.1 mm. Also disclosed is a method for producing a corona ignition device, in which, to produce the housing pipe, an inner pipe is inserted into an outer pipe. The invention also relates to a corona ignition device of which the coil is surrounded by a soft-magnetic shielding.

摘要： A quarter wave coaxial cavity resonator for producing corona discharge plasma from is presented. The quarter wave coaxial cavity resonator has a folded cavity made of opposing concentric cavity members that are nested together to form a continuous cavity ending in a aperture. A center conductor with a tip is positioned in the cavity. The folded cavity advantageously permits the coaxial cavity resonator to resonate at a lower operating frequency than an unfolded quarter wave coaxial cavity resonator of the same length. Embodiments of the quarter wave coaxial cavity resonator use narrower apertures to reduce radiative losses, and include center conductors that are reactive load elements, such as helical coils. When a radio frequency (RF) oscillation is produced in the quarter wave coaxial cavity resonator, corona discharge plasma is formed at the tip of the center conductor. The corona discharge plasma can be used to ignite combustible materials in combustion chambers of combustion engines.
