A single piece of decorative film is wrapped over both the jamb and the doorstop such that the decorative film conforms to the shape of the jamb and the doorstop. As a result, it can appear to a person that the doorstop and the jamb form a single integral piece. The door includes a particle board slab. A width of the particle board slab is approximately equal to a width of the door. The height of the particle board slab is approximately equal to a height of the door. The door does not include stiles or rails. One or more hinges attach the particle board slab to one of the jambs.

Specifically, the window frame assembly of the present invention comprises a core substrate coupled to a flange. Certain embodiments of the present invention comprise a core substrate having a thickness less than 5/16 inch and having, by volume, an elastic modulus greater than wood. A flange comprises a depth sufficient to retain a hinge attached to a window covering, such as a shutter. Certain embodiments of the present invention provide for a decorative covering to be coupled to the core substrate and/or flange such that a portion of the window frame assembly is thereby concealed. The improved strength per volume of the present invention facilitates shutter installation by a “do-it-yourself” homeowner or handyman as well as by a skilled carpenter.

Each channel can receive a cooperating means (14) which can be used to mount a panel or bracket on the stud. The invention also concerns a building element which is a joining clip (16) which can be connected to a panel or bracket. The joining clip includes the cooperating means (14) for mounting a panel or bracket on the stud. The invention also concerns a building element which is a joining element (42) which can connect one panel to another. The joining element is hinged (46). The invention also discloses two types of bracket for mounting in the stud. The first type has a screw-threaded shaft (71) and a sleeve (72) with cooperating means (73) at one end of the sleeve. The cooperating means is shaped so that it can be inserted horizontally in a channel of the stud and rotated so that the cooperating means cannot be withdrawn horizontally from the channel. The bracket may thereafter be locked into position in the channel. The second type of bracket has two arms (81, 82) at an angle to each other (83). Cooperating means (84) are located at one end of one arm (81). The cooperating means is shaped so that it can be inserted horizontally in a channel of the stud and rotated so that the cooperating means cannot be withdrawn horizontally from the channel. The one arm of the bracket may thereafter be pushed into position in the channel. A track (60) is adapted to be hung from a horizontal surface (61), the track having a gutter (59) adapted to receive a connecting clip (63) attached to an end of a panel (18), the track also having a channel (59) adapted to receive a masking clip (64) adapted to conceal the end of the channel.

摘要： A protective door jamb system integrally connected to a door frame. The door jamb system of the present invention includes both a door stop and jamb cladding each manufactured from an extruded plastic product such as hollow rigid plastic, cellular plastic, granular filled plastic or fiber filled plastic. The door stop and jamb clad are each designed to attach to a door jamb substrate through compression deflected fingers. The door jamb system of the present invention may also include a weather strip to ensure a weather-tight seal of a door when the door is closed into the frame. The jamb clad of the present invention covers the recessed portion of the door jamb substrate adjacent the jamb to completely cover the substrate and thereby increase both the structural and aesthetic integrity of the frame. The door jamb system of the present invention therefore permits use of otherwise aesthetically unpleasing, and less expensive material, for the door jamb substrate, with the advantage being that a high quality product may be manufactured for less associated cost.
