    • A chemical (e.g., foam precursor) dispensing system having a mixing module valve/purge rod (or valving/purge device) reciprocating drive system that comprises a crank and slide mechanism in an effort to prevent lock up. The same drive system also preferably is used to reciprocate a mechanical tip contact cleaner as in a reciprocating brush. The mixing module is preferably in the form of a cartridge which is received within an adjustable, finger releasable mounting region of the dispenser housing so as to properly align the mixing module relative to chemical and solvent feed ports. To further maintain a clean dispenser tip a solvent feed system is provided which includes a double front cap wall arrangement for bathing the free end of tip and the tip outlet region of the mixing module.

    • A plural component airless spray gun for reactive liquid materials has a mix chamber (68) into which coreactive liquid component are introduced and mixed, an airless tip at a forward outlet from the chamber from which the mixed components are emitted in a fan-shaped spray, and a mechanically operated purge rod (78) for cleaning residual reactants from the mix chamber (68) and airless tip (70). The purge rod (78) has a main body of a diameter slightly less than that of the mix chamber (68) and a probe at its forward end that geometrically conforms to and is adapted to enter into and clean the inside of the spray tip. During spraying the purge rod (78) is retracted in the mix chamber (68) rearwardly of liquid reactant inlets to the chamber. Upon completion of spraying or periodically as desired, the purge rod (78) is moved forwardly to clean the mix chamber (68) and the inside of the airless tip of residual reactive components. To prevent damage to the airless tip should the probe of the purge rod encounter cured material within the tip or the tip itself as the purge rod is moved forward, the purge rod (78) is moved forward by a piston assembly that is structured to decrease the forward driving force exerted on the purge rod when its probe is in the airless tip.

    • A film feeding system having use in a foam-in-bag dispensing system which includes a hinged front access assembly providing ready access to nip roller sets, end and cross cut sealing wires, film diversion prevention canes, etc. to facilitate rapid service and replacement. The film is fed from a source which is in driving engagement with a torque motor and travels over a smooth configured dispenser housing before being end and edge sealed. The smooth body dispenser housing encompasses a mixing module reciprocating cartridge and a valve rod driving system. The film is fed to a roller assembly as in a nip roller set which is driven by a drive motor with its own monitor. A controller communicating with the nip roller motor and the film source motor is utilized to maintain desired film tension and also provide for adjustment and determination of potential or active film fed problems as well as film supply level monitoring. The edge seal formation is achieved with an edge seal device having an adjustable/controllable heater cartridge supported at a bearing sleeve receiving a shaft of a nip roller set lying between moving edge seal support rollers in driving engagement with the shaft. A cross-cut and/or seal is formed with a controlled movable jaw and fixed jaw combination with the moving jaw having a compliance system for absorbing misalignment.

    • An in-line chemical feed pump for a foam dispenser system comprising an inlet conduit for receiving chemical fluid, a pump head in chemical fluid communication with said inlet conduit, an outlet conduit in chemical fluid communication with said pump head, a driver, a pump drive transmission system positioned in drive transmission communication between the driver and pump head. The pump drive transmission system includes a magnetic coupling with first and second magnetic coupling members placed to opposite sides of an intermediate protective shroud, and wherein said shroud has a coupling reception cavity which receives one of said first and second magnetic coupling members. The shroud is preferably in the form of a cylindrical side wall defining said coupling reception cavity and said first magnetic coupling member includes an annular magnetic coupling ring extending about said cylindrical side wall, and said second coupling member has a magnetic coupler positioned within said shroud and magnetically coupled with the annular magnetic coupling ring. The pump is also preferably annular magnetic coupling ring has multiple poles. The pump feeds a heated chemical hose with a feed through unit attached at the dispenser end and the free end positioned closer to the pump and/or source. Heater units are also preferably also provided in the heater unit to supplement the chemical hose heater.
