    • PURPOSE:To lessen temperature variability in a packed material, by equipping partially heating parts having wave guides irradiating different positions in the transfer direction making a packed material come close to before and behind an inverting part to invert a supporting material and in the direction perpendicular to the transfer direction with microwave. CONSTITUTION:A material to be sterilized by microwave is packed into a container or bag to give a packed material, which is stored in a supporting material A made of a material capable of transmitting microwave, irradiated with microwave by microwave oscillators 10A1-10A4, heated and sterilized while being transferred. Partial heating parts 1A1 and 1A2 having wave guides 11A1-11A4 to irradiate different positions in the transfer direction making the packed material come close to before and behind an inverting part 1B to invert the supporting material A and in the direction perpendicular to the transfer direction. Consequently, temperature variability in the packed material in microwave heating sterilization of continuous type can be lessened, deterioration of qualities by overheating is prevented and short-time uniform heating is made possible.

    • PURPOSE:To carry out uniform heating, by providing the first heating part for partially heating a package and the second heating part for heating the whole in an apparatus for irradiating the package containing a hermetically sealed substance to be sterilized with microwaves while transferring the package. CONSTITUTION:A package (B) containing a substance which can be heated and sterilized with microwaves is contained in each support (A) consisting of a material capable of penetrating the microwaves. The support (A) is then conveyed to the first heating part with a conveyor 8 and partially heated with plural microwave generators (10A)-(15A) having irradiation ports in the vicinity of the under side of the package (B) in the conveying direction of the support (A) and waveguides (10B)-(15B) respectively arranged at different positions in the direction at right angles to the conveying direction. The package (B) is then conveyed to the second heating part, wholly heated and sterilized with a microwave generator (10A) having a waveguide (20B) with an irradiation port for heating the whole package (B) on the wall surface thereof.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the final temp. irregularity of the substance to be sterilized in a package to the min., by respectively heating the places, which are different in the direction right-angled to a transfer direction, of the package by an approaching wave guide and continuously heating the whole of the package of the wave guide connected to a heating chamber. CONSTITUTION:A support A having a package B received therein is supplied to a conveyor 8 to be fed to the first heating part 1A through a microwave trap 5 and the substance to be sterilized in the package B is partial heated. Next, the whole of the package B is heated in the second heating part 1B and the sterilized package again passes a microwave trap 7 to be taken out. The wave guides 11A of the first heating part 1A irradiate positions which are separated by an equal distance in mutually opposite directions in the direction right-angled to the feed direction. The bag like package B is irradiated with a microwave at places (a), (b) separated left and right by an equal distance from the central part thereof to be heated in the first heating part 1A, and the whole including the peripheral part of the package is irradiated and heated in the next second heating part 1B.
