摘要： The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving data, and a method for a user equipment transmitting data, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a step of determining conditions for determining whether a condition for transmitting short data is satisfied, when data to be transmitted is generated; and a step of including the data to be transmitted in a radio resource control (RRC) connection setup completion message and transmitting same, when the condition for transmitting the short data is satisfied. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the problem of network overload can be prevented by reducing signaling overhead when processing small packets, which are generated intermittently, in the mobile communication system, and an apparatus and a method for enhancing battery performance in the user equipment can be effectively provided.

摘要： An enhanced radio network controller (RNC) node of a radio access network stores context information for a user equipment unit which is in a Connected Mode, and initiates a cell update-prompting message which is transmitted the user equipment unit. The stored context information is used by the context-enhanced radio network controller (RNC) node for addressing the cell update-prompting message to the user equipment unit. After the user equipment unit (which is in its Connected Mode) performs the prompted cell update procedure, such user equipment unit (UE) can be paged with a conventional paging message. The invention with its context-enhanced radio network controller (RNC) node is particularly suitable to user equipment units which are in a critical state of the Connected Mode, such as (for example) either a CELL_PCH state or a URA_PCH state of the Connected Mode.

A terminal performs communication without malfunctions using a timer suitable for a certain condition. The terminal operates the timer by receiving, from a base station, a message including a timing advance command and an index on a timing advance group (TAG), operating the timer for the TAG, the index has a value of 00 when the TAG includes a first cell. A terminal operates a timer by operating a first timer for a TAG including a first cell, operating a second timer upon receipt of a timing advance command for a second TAG that does not include the first cell, and, if the first timer has expired, deeming the second timer to also be expired.
