    • A salvage device facilitates detaching a plurality of components soldered to a plurality of modules used in printed circuit board assemblies. In one embodiment, a salvage device has a component receptacle with a component receiver that is adapted to hold a plurality of detached components. The salvage device also has a module holder attached to the component receptacle. In operation, the module holder suspends a plurality of modules over the component receiver to space the components attached to the modules apart from the component receiver. The salvage device is then placed in an oven to melt the solder contacts that bond the components to the modules. After the solder contacts reach a molten state, the components are preferably separated from the module by vibrating the components and the modules to break the surface tension of the molten solder. The components then fall into the component receiver and are removed from the oven.

    • An easy-to-construct modular wheelchair ramp with reliable dimensional stability in excess of all current regulatory requirements is provided. Such a modular device allows for a variety of ramp materials to be incorporated therein on demand as well as the utilization of any desired ramp pitch without any need to adjust (let alone actually use) connecting brackets and/or under-section supports. The double-channel stringer configuration thus allows for support legs to easily connect and move along such a component for facilitated set-up. Additionally, the double-channeled structure allows for any handrail materials to be properly and easily secured thereto. The stringer alone, as well as the overall modular ramp structure, are encompassed within this invention. The method of constructing such a wheelchair ramp is also envisioned within the invention.

    • An air induction device is provided for mounting to a downspout to induce the flow of air in the downspout. The air induction device comprises a tubular member that is sealingly fitted through the downspout such that it provides fluid communication between the atmosphere and the interior of the downspout. The air induction device is preferably mounted on an upwardly facing surface of the downspout and at a location where the downspout is extending angularly downward or at a bend in the downspout, thereby orienting the tubular member at an upwardly extending oblique angle relative to the downspout.

    • A mobile device receives via a wireless network an enable message which indicates that a data message has been received and is ready for retrieval. The mobile device then provides an indication which indicates that the data message has been received, and includes a subset of the data message. After providing the indication, the mobile device detects a user-initiated entry into a messaging application. In response to detecting the user-initiated entry, the mobile device examines a setting in a data store which is provided in response to the enable message. If the setting is provided in the data store, the mobile device requests the data message by sending via the wireless network a fetch message and subsequently receives the data message. If the setting is not provided in the data store, the mobile device refrains from sending the fetch message.
