摘要： A method for implementing an inductor-capacitor filter in an integrated circuit. Embodiments of the invention implement a 5-pole LC low-pass filter suitable for incorporation in wireless applications necessitating compact layouts. Inductors are formed in an IC as concentric coils on metallization layers, the concentric coils providing a negative coupling coefficient between the inductors. The invention provides programmable frequency response characteristics, enabling the transmission of high-frequency base band information while attenuating carrier RF frequencies.

摘要： Aiming of an imaging reader at direct part markings (DPM) on workpieces is enhanced by emitting an aiming light beam during aiming, and by optically modifying the aiming light beam during the aiming to generate an aiming light pattern having an outer bright region illuminated by the aiming light beam and visible to an operator to enable the operator to manually position the bright region to entirely surround at least part of the DPM, and an inner dark region not illuminated by the aiming light beam and surrounded by the bright region. The dark region contains the part of the DPM code to be imaged and read by the reader after the aiming.

摘要： An optical system for a digital light projection system is provided. The optical system comprises a plurality of LED arrays, wherein each LED array comprises a plurality of LEDs. The optical system also comprises an optical concentrator element positioned substantially adjacent to each of the LED arrays, wherein each concentrator element reflects light emitted from the plurality of LEDs within the corresponding LED array. The optical system preferably further comprises a reflective aperture element positioned substantially adjacent to the output surface of each concentrator element. The aperture element includes a reflective surface and an aperture defined by the reflective surface. The reflective surface faces the output surface of each corresponding concentrator element to thereby ultimately provide substantially uniform light which is projected through the aperture.

摘要： Entry of HIV-1 into target cells requires cell surface CD4 as well as additional host cell cofactors. A cofactor required for infection with virus adapted for growth in transformed T cell lines was recently identified and named fusin. Fusin, however, does not promote entry of macrophage-tropic viruses that are believed to be the key pathogenic strains in vivo. It has now been determined that the principal cofactor for entry mediated by the envelope glycoproteins of primary macrophage-tropic strains of HIV-1 is CC-CKR5, a receptor for the β-chemokines RANTES, MIP-1α, and MIP-1β.
