    • PURPOSE:To obtain a superior weld zone at all times by performing build-up welding in the weld start part and remelting the initial filled metal. CONSTITUTION:Welding is started from near an arbitrary point C of pipes, and after one circumference of the pipes are welded on progression of root pass welding 10, build-up welding 12 is perormed by way of the start point of the root part in succession of this. In the root pass start parts C'-D' the backing material in the bottom part has not penetrated sufficiently and the lack of fusion is caused, but if build-up welding is performed after the welding of one circumference, it is remelted sufficiently, thereby eliminating the defective parts of lack of fusion. The reason for this lies in that because of the small amount of the filled metal between C'-D', the heat of welding arc arrives sufficiently at the bottom of the groove and that the heat energy sufficient for remelting these parts is supplied to the bottom part.

    • PURPOSE:To perform diffusion welding perfectly without causing deformation through direct welding by heating joining materials to their recrystallization temperature or more and pressing them then releasing the pressure and elevating their temperature to a high temperature below their melting point and holding said temperature for a fixed time. CONSTITUTION:Coupling materials are heated to their recrystallization temperature (the lower recrystallization temperature with dissimilar material joints) in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere and they are pressed under said temperature. Thence, in succession to this, or after the temperature is once lowered, they are reheated at a high temperature below their melting point in the state released from pressure, whereby diffusion welding is completed. In this case, the heating atmosphere is kept vacuum or inert gas atmosphere throughout this process. As a result of this, extremely superior joining results are obtainable without using any insert material or the like for promotion of bondability at all and without causing any deformation in direct joining.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the disturbance of shielding gas flow owing to strong wind and make possible gas shielded welding at all times by forming the nozzle for gas shielded welding to a double barrel system and spouting part of gas as surrounding gas on the outer side of the shielding gas. CONSTITUTION:An end part 3 is mounted to the end of an outer barrel 1 of the nozzle and an inner barrel 6 is inserted to the inner side of the outer barrel. These are then mounted by matching the key 7 and key hole 8 at the top end to assemble the nozzle. This is then connected to a commercially marketed welding torch 15 by means of a screw or quick joint 17. CO2 gas is supplied from the center of the welding torch 15. Part 19 of the supplied gas 18 passes through a branch effluent port 10 and spouts from the surrounding gas spouting ports, thereby forming a surrounding gas curtain 19'. The rest 20 of the gas forms the shielding gas 20' of the weld zone. The shielding gas 20' is protected by the surrounding gas curtain 19' to prevent the entry of the wind from the side into the weld zone and the shielding gas 20' is able to shield the weld zone perfectly from the outside wind and therefore the superior weld zone is formed.

    • PURPOSE:To evenly size-control the entire part of the welding works by electrically detecting the contact of the plural limit plates which prevent more than specified deformations of the welding works and intermediate members and releasing the pressing after the welding works contact the entire limit plates. CONSTITUTION:A clearance A which becomes the size reduction amount of the welding works 4 owing to diffusion welding is provided between an upper intermediate member 3 composed of the conductor having high-temperature high- strength and limit plates 5-1 and 5-2 composed of conductor material, respectively. When in this state the deformations of the welding works 4 progress unevenly during diffusion welding and, e.g., the plate 5-1 makes close contact with the member 3, then the welding work deformation amount detecting circuit between the both becomes closed circuit and a resistance meter 9-1 becomes 0OMEGA. Next, when the diffusion welding is further progressed from this state, the deformation on the plate 5-1 side of the welding works 4 is perfectly blocked by the plate 5-1 and the welding works 4 deform only on the plate 5-2 side. And finally, the plate 5-2 makes close contact with the member 3 as well and a resistance meter 9-2 indicates 0OMEGA, too, thus the welding works 4 may be evenly size-controlled.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of pipe and flange due to cooling after welding, by providing holes equal to outside diameter and inside diameter of pipe in the both sides of the flange and a groove in the inner wall, and inserting a pipe and expanding it, and then performing nonfiller welding, when joining a flange and a pipe. CONSTITUTION:A large diameter part 11 slightly larger than the outside diameter of a pipe 2 is provided on one side of a flange 1, and a small diameter part 12 nearly equal to the inside diameter of the pipe is provided on the opposite side face. The pipe 2 is inserted into said large diameter part 11, and a groove 4 is provided in the inner face of the large diameter part 11 of the flange. 1. The pipe 2 and flange 1 are joined together within the pipe by nonfiller interior welding 3, and the pipe 2 and flange 1 are completely sealed. Then, the interior welded part is expanded to deform plastically, and part of the outer circumferential surface of the pipe 2 is bulged within the groove 4, and the pipe 2 and flange 1 are affixed to increase the bond strength of the two. Or, nonfiller welding may be applied after expanding the pipe.
