    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to maintain the edge of a cutter bit normally in a state of sharpness by providing two inclined surfaces on the rear surface of the cutter bit, and switching the cutter bit from a cutting state to a grinding state to make it possible to hold the cutter bit. CONSTITUTION:A cutter bit 2 is supported on the front end of a casing tube 1 so that it is capable of turning. After that, two inclined surfaces 14 and 16 are provided on the rear surface of the cutter bit 2, and they are selectively brought into contact with the front end of the casing tube 1 by forward and reverse rotation of the casing tube 1, and the cutter bit 2 can be switched from a cutting state to a grinding state. When operation is continued in a cutting state to deteriorate the sharpness of the edge of the cutter bit, the casing tube 1 is reversed to change in a grinding state, and the cutter bit 2 is ground. According to the constitution, a cheap superhard alloy cutter bit can be used, and a running cost can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To constrain the diffusion of a carbon and to prevent the embrittlement of a weld zone by forming in a tubular transition piece after joining with diffusion or hot rolling an Ni group foil by pinching it to a welding dissimilar material and by welding it with the same material respectively by interposing it between dissimilar materials. CONSTITUTION:The movement of a carbon is caused in the welding between the ferritic steels having different carbon contents or a ferritic steel and austenitic steel, and in case of the Cr contents having a strong carbon affinity being different the carbon movement is caused especially and the embrittlement of the weld zone is caused. The joining is therefore performed with diffusion or hot rolling by interposing the Ni foil or Ni alloy foil 5 having far less carbon diffusion movement between both different materials 24, 25. A tubular transition piece 6 is machined from this joining material and both ends thereof are welded by the same kind of metal with the same kind of material respectively. The joined part is not embrittled by the suppression of the carbon movement. The interface stress is reduced and the joined part becomes good even against a high temp. creep if it is formed in a tube shape by extruding the joined cylinder.
