    • A LED (Light Emitting Diode) lamp capable of effectively dissipating heat to the outside and distinguishing borders of bright portions and dark portions in a tube cap is provided. The LED lamp includes: a tube; a support member, including a heat dissipation component extending in an axial direction of the tube, and accommodated in the tube; a plurality of LED chips, accommodated in the tube and supported by the support member; and an adhesive layer, disposed between the heat dissipation component and the tube, and used for adhering the heat dissipation component and the tube. The LED lamp further includes a tube cap formed by a first semi-cylinder portion and a second semi-cylinder portion. A light passing space allowing light emitted from each LED chip to pass through is formed in the tube. The first semi-cylinder portion and the second semi-cylinder portion together surround the tube.

    • A driving circuit of at least one embodiment includes: m output terminals; m+1 video signal output sections including m+1 output circuits, respectively; a decision section for determining the quality of each of the video signal output sections; and switches for switching connections between the output terminals and the video signal output sections in accordance with a result of determination made by the decision section. When the decision section has determined the ith (i being a natural number of m or less) video signal output section to be defective, the switches connect the jth (j being a natural number of i−1 or less) video signal output section to the jth output terminal and connect the (k+1)th (k being a natural number of i or more to m or less) video signal output section to the kth output terminal. Thus provided is a driving circuit, capable of self-repairing a defective one of the video signal output sections, which has more simplified wires connected to the video signal output sections.

    • Smear preparing apparatuses for preparing a smear of a specimen on a glass slide are described that include a memory for storing smearing conditions in connection with pertinent information required for establishing the smearing condition; and a controller for retrieving one of the stored smearing conditions corresponding to the pertinent information of the specimen from the memory and for determining it as the smearing condition of the specimen. Methods of preparing sample smears on a glass slide are also described that include receiving condition identification data; storing smear preparing conditions correlated with the condition identification data; retrieving the smear preparing conditions correlated with the condition identification data; and applying the sample smear to the glass slide based on the smear preparing conditions.
