    • An ophthalmic examination apparatus directs a laser beam from a laser light source onto the fundus of an eye to scan the fundus two-dimensionally, picks up the light reflected back from the eye fundus and by means of a photoelectric transducer subjects the light to photoelectric conversion to obtain information about the eye fundus. A laser light source is provided that generates laser beams of a plurality of wavelengths, a first acousto-optical device selects one wavelength from among the plurality of laser beam wavelengths, a first optical deflector is used to scan a laser beam in one direction at a predetermined frequency, and a second optical deflector is used for scanning the laser beam in a direction at right-angles to the above direction at a frequency that is lower than the above frequency. The first optical deflector is constructed as the second acousto-optical device which is driven at an ultrasonic frequency, and by changing the range of variability of the ultrasonic frequency of the second acousto-optical device in accordance with the laser beam wavelength selected by the first acousto-optical device, the angle of deflection of the first optical deflector becomes the same irrespective of the wavelength of the laser beam.

    • A method and an apparatus for correcting video signals are provided for printing simulation with a color monitor. Excellent mixed-color simulation can be performed in a printing process processing with a relatively high U.C.R.%. Mixed-color signals of secondary colors, a tertiary color, a quaternary color, black x primary colors, and black x secondary colors are detected from the signals (Y), (M), (C) and (K) for yellow Y, magenta M, cyan C and black K. The mixed-color signals are subjected to overlap compensation to provide overlap-compensated mixed-color signals. The signals (Y), (M), (C) and (K) are corrected using the overlap-compensated mixed-color signals so as to reduce color value of the mixed-colors in small portions. Printing simulation with a color monitor is facilitated. A correction/conversion method and an apparatus therefor are also provided which have a function of mixed-color correction and a function of converting the signals (Y), (M), (C) and (K) into signals (B), (G) and (R) for the color monitor.

    • A correction value for luminance correction is determined by: measuring a luminance value of each display element by displaying a first image including luminance unevenness caused by characteristic differences among the display elements and characteristic differences among modulation circuits, and calculating a first luminance value serving as a representative luminance value of the display elements for each of the modulation circuits; measuring the luminance value of each of the display elements by displaying a second image in which the luminance unevenness caused by characteristic differences among the modulation circuits is smaller than that of the first image, and calculating a second luminance value serving as a representative luminance value of the display elements for each of the modulation circuits; and calculating a correction value corresponding to each modulation circuit using a value obtained by dividing the first luminance value by the second luminance value.

    • An image display apparatus has a correction unit that performs a correction process on image signals so as to suppress luminance fluctuation caused by capacitive coupling between adjacent column wirings. The correction unit includes: a correction value generation unit that determines a correction value for a pixel to be corrected on the basis of a combination of a signal value of the pixel to be corrected and signal values of adjacent pixels which are on a column wiring next to a column wiring on which the pixel to be corrected is, and on the basis of a position of the pixel to be corrected in a column direction; and a correction operation unit that corrects a signal of the pixel to be corrected using the correction value generated by the correction value generation unit.
