    • PURPOSE:To automatically alter the rigidity of a brace by fixing a locking member locking on a resistance plate during the acting of tensile force to the back side of the resisting plate with the locking member having passed through the resistance plate, and causing plural brace members to phasedly resist against the tensile force. CONSTITUTION:One side of the ends of a brace member b is fixed to a corner of a frame F, and the brace member b passes through a resistance plate 1 formed with plural holes, and a locking member 2 locking to the back face of the resistance plate 1 during acting of tensile force is fixed. A clearance is provided between the locking member 2 and the back face of the resistance plate 1, and made to differ in every brace member b, or a spring member 4 different in rigidity is inserted in the clearance having a fixed size in every locking member 2. Thus the brace member b locks the resistance plate 1 in order according to the strength of tensile force to enable a variably rigid brace B to phasedly display resisting force.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a brace structure having firm strength with respect not only tensile strength but also compression force and being excellent for earthquake resistance by filling concrete into a steel pipe being employed as a brace. CONSTITUTION: A brace 1 is joined to a structural body via a joint metal piece 6. The brace 1 is formed having concrete filled in a steel pipe 2 and a separation layer 4 to avoid friction from being occurred between the steel pipe 2 and the concrete 3, and also having a stopper 5 projected at the outer circumference of an end part of the steel pipe 2. This structure is formed that a hole 9 is made to allow the end part of the brace 1 to be inserted along with the stopper therein at the end part of the joint metal piece 6, and further, a stopper 10 capable of joining the stopper 5 to the open end of the hole 9, and a projection part is vertically set to have the concrete end part of the brace 1 contacted with the bottom of the hole 9.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a device, which can measure even the quantity of defectiveness in a simple, prompt and accurate manner, by providing a detecting element for oscillating ultrasonic beam and a detecting element for receiving the same and by equidistantly moving and scanning the two elements on one side of a mother material in the opposite direction by means of a jig. CONSTITUTION:In case the welded portion C between a column A and a beam B is to be inspected, only the width W of the beam B is measured from the welded portion C and a point O is set at the center point for the flaw detection. First, both a transmitting flaw detecting element 7 for generating ultrasonic beam at a deflection angle of 45 degrees and a receiving flaw detecting element 9 are placed at the side of the beam B thereby to set the sensitivity of the ultrasonic flaw detector and to mark the detection position of a defective echo. A table 1 having a gear 2 and arms 4 and 6 is fixed at the point O of the beam B, and the detecting elements 7 and 9 are placed on a plate having the same thickness as that of the beam B so that they are fixed by fixing shafts 8 and 9. A contact medium such as glycerin is used to equidistantly move the elements 7 and 9 in the opposite direction to that of arrow for the scanning purpose so that the change in the level of the echo is measure. The defective area is presumed in comparison with the test results of the known test piece. Thus it is possible to detect the flow of the whole welded surface accurately and promptly.

The reinforcement metal fitting 4 includes a bottom plate part 4a, which is installed substantially vertically so as to abut against the surface 1a of the column 1 joined to a beam; an arm part 4b which generally horizontally projects from the bottom plate part 4a along the longitudinal direction of the beam 2 and holds the lower flange 2a of the beam 2 and which is formed in a generally groove shape in cross section; and a reinforcement rib 4c formed integrally with the bottom plate part 4a and the arm part 4b between the bottom plate part 4a and the arm part 4b.
