    • The present invention provides a system and method for determining equivalency factors for use in comparative performance analysis of industrial facilities by determining a target variable and a plurality of characteristics of the target variable. Each of the plurality of characteristics is ranked according to value. Based on ranking value, the characteristics are divided into categories. Based on the sorted and ranked characteristics, a data collection classification system is developed. Data is collected according to the data collection classification system. The data is validated, and based on the data, an analysis model is developed. The analysis model then calculates the equivalency factors for use in one embodiment in performance measurement and equitable benchmarking of green house gas (GHG) emissions from industrial facilities for the purposes of allocating GHG emission allowances for permits, licenses, etc.

    • A method and computer program product are provided for controlling the control effectors of an aerodynamic vehicle including, for example, the respective positions of nozzles and aerodynamic surfaces, to affect a desired change in the time rate of change of the system state vector. The method initially determines differences between anticipated changes in the states of the aerodynamic vehicle based upon the current state of each control effector, and desired state changes. These differences may be weighted based upon a predetermined criteria, such as the importance of the respective states and/or the weight to be attributed to outliers. The differences between the anticipated and desired state changes are converted to the corresponding rates of change of the control effectors. Control signals are then issued to the control effectors to affect the desired change in the time rate of change of the system state vector.

A system in accordance with one embodiment of the invention includes at least one display portion configured to display an image and be positioned proximate to a seat location within the vehicle. A first signal receiving portion can be configured to receive an input image signal, and a second signal receiving portion can be configured to receive a motion signal corresponding to a motion of the vehicle. A processing portion can be configured to direct to the at least one display portion a time-varying output signal that appears to move by less than an object actually positioned external to the vehicle would appear to move to an occupant at the seat location of the vehicle. Accordingly, the viewer may be less susceptible to motion sickness by receiving visual cues that correspond to less motion than the occupant feels.
