摘要： Disclosed herein are adhesives comprising a copolymer comprising at least 80 wt % of units derived from propylene and from about 1 to about 20 wt % of units derived from at least one C6 to C10 alpha-olefin. The copolymer has a molecular weight of less than 100,000 and a heat of fusion between about 10 and about 70 J/g. An adhesive containing the copolymer preferably exhibits at least 50% fiber tear at −18° C. and at least 50% fiber tear at +25° C. using Inland paper board as a substrate; a viscosity of less than 50,000 mPa sec at 190° C., a set time of less than 4 seconds and a toughness of at least 3.4 megajoule/m3.

The olefin polymers can be prepared by contacting polymerizable olefin monomers with catalyst complexes of Group 3–11 metal cations and noncoordinating or weakly coordinating anion compounds bound directly to the surfaces of finely divided substrate particles or to polymer chains capable of effective suspension or solvation in polymerization solvents or diluents under solution polymerization conditions. Thus, the invention includes polyolefin products prepared by the invention processes, particularly ethylene-containing copolymers, having insignificant levels of mobile, negatively charged particles as detectable by Time of Flight SIMS.

摘要： An oriented multilayer film is provided, the film including in at least one outer layer an ethylene copolymer having a density of 0.900-0.935 g/cm3 and a CDBI of 50-95% the outer layer is in contact with a polypropylene core layer, and the film is made by coextrusion of the ethylene copolymer and the polypropylene layer and subsequent orientation. The coextruded layers can be uniaxially oriented or biaxially oriented without difficulties caused by presence of low molecular weight amorphous polymer fractions inherently present in traditional Ziegler-Natta linear low density polyethylene. The optical properties of oriented polypropylene films can be retained, while the sealing temperature is lowered and the heat seal strength and the hot tack performance properties are improved.

These plastic toughened plastics are useful in molded articles, most especially automotive interior trim parts. The mPE can be present in such toughened plastics from 5-40 weight percent, the iPP from 60-95 weight percent. The toughened plastics will have an excellent balance of tensile toughness, elongation and modulus at −10° C. Generally the tensile toughness will be 25-250% greater than the tensile toughness of a similarly proportioned blend of Ziegler-Natta catalyst produced polyethylene/iPP.

摘要： Apparatus, compositions, and methods for creating polymer plugs in wellbores and/or for enhancing wellbore stability, comprising: a flow control device such as a blowout preventer on a wellbore; a control fluid aperture fluidly connected with the wellbore for introducing a control fluid and/or a plug-forming agent such as a polymer, monomer, resinous, and/or crosslinkable material, through a control fluid aperture and into the primary throughbore while wellbore blowout fluid flows through the wellbore; and optionally, a weighted fluid aperture positioned in the wellbore conduit below the control fluid aperture for introducing a weighted fluid or another fluid or plug-forming agent into the wellbore. Exemplary plug-forming agents include dicyclopentadiene and norborene, and exemplary catalysts include Grubbs catalysts. The polymer plugs also may be utilized to hydraulic sealing within wellbores, such as during P&A and drilling operations for providing wellbore stability.
