    • An underlying schema is discovered for an HTML document or a set of HTML documents, authored in various styles. Prior domain knowledge regarding punctuation, keywords, synonyms and HTML tags is used to 1) break a document up into separate objects, 2) identify the objects corresponding to keywords, 3) regroup objects: into hierarchical layers of abstraction, 4) logically order objects at the same level of abstraction, and 5) finally remove any non-keyword related information from the document's discovered schematic structure. The discovered schema supports structural queries from search engines that locate data that are more semantically related to the requested information than data located by simple keyword searching.

    • A system and method for associating a personalized application tool and/or service in response to data supplied by any number of search requests is disclosed.     • A computer program product is provided as an automatic mining system to identify a set of related information on the World Wide Web using the duality concept. The mining system addresses iteratively refines mutually dependent approximations to their identifications. In one embodiment, the automatic mining system identifies (acronym, expansion) pairs in terms of the patterns of their occurrences in the web pages and their formation rules. The automatic mining system includes a formation rule identifier that derives the formation rules, an acronym-expansion pair identifier that derives the (acronym, expansion) pairs, and a pattern identifier that derives the patterns. The database stores the (acronym, expansion) pairs, patterns, and formation rules. Initially, the database begins with small seed sets of (acronym, expansion) pairs, patterns, and formation rules that are continuously and iteratively broadened by the automatic mining system.

    • Systems and methods for on demand local commerce are described. One example embodiment includes a device gathering location information and product interest associated with clients and client devices. The system may use location information in determining that the first plurality of client devices are within a first geographic area during a first time period, and may further use the interest information in calculating an interest level for a first product. A threshold may be identified and used in determining that the interest level for the first product exceeds the threshold. When the calculated interest level exceeds the threshold, a local commerce action is initiated. In various embodiments, the local commerce action may be a live on demand auction at a particular location, an offer associated with a geofenced area, a sales location recommendation to a merchant, or any other such local commerce action.
