    • A method and system for ensuring data integrity in a data processing system may comprise monitoring when data for a specified device is available for error correction code generation, and receiving a first indication of the specified device, a second indication of the data, and a third indication of a size of the data during the monitoring. A new error correction code may be generated in hardware for the data based on the indicated size of the data and an indication may be provided to signal when generation of the new error correction code for a specified number of accesses for at least a portion of the data is complete. Detected errors may be corrected in software based on the newly generated error correction code. The first indication may be a device selection signal and the error correction code generation may be enabled or disabled via an enable signal.

    • Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) based Phase Lock Loops (PLLs) are provided for use in navigational signal receivers. In an embodiment, a navigation receiver correlates a received navigational signal with a locally generated signal into correlation samples, e.g., one-millisecond correlation samples. The navigation receiver includes a FFT based PLL that corrects phase shifts in the correlation samples due to the Doppler frequency by considering both the Doppler frequency and its rate of change, which are obtained from a FFT computation with interpolation. The phase corrected correlation samples are then integrated over a length of a navigation data bit, e.g., 20 milliseconds, to determine the sign of the data bit of the received signal. In another embodiment, a soft decision feedback technique involving integration extending over the present data bit and several prior data bits is used to determine the sign of a present data bit of the received signal.

    • In a wireless device, a method and system for a baseband receiver interface including analog and digital components are provided. An analog or a digital interface may be selected for a I/Q data signal received from a front-end receiver. The analog interface may be a conventional RF or a VLIF interface. The I/Q data signal may be digitized when received from the analog interface and saturation detection may be used during digitization of the I/Q data signal. When the analog interface is the VLIF interface, a derotator may be used to remove the VLIF frequency. The derotator may be based on a CORDIC algorithm. The I/Q data signal may be converted from serial to parallel format when received from the digital interface. The received I/Q data signal may be decimated before transferred to a baseband processor.

    • A method and system for testing software filters used in a multimedia environment to support kernel streaming. In a computer, a source module generates a data stream in order to emulate a multimedia input device, such as a microphone or video camera. A plurality of software filters are communicatively coupled to form a software filter chain. The chain of software filters receives the data stream from the source module and propagates the data stream through each software filter for processing. An analysis module receives the processed data stream from the chain of software, filters and produces performance information as a function of the received data stream. The source module, the analysis module and each software filter operate in a kernel-mode and are configured by a test tool operating in non-kernel mode. Via the test tool, a user can select appropriate source and analysis modules as well as construct the chain of software filters to include a large number of software filters. In order to assess the functionality of a large number software filters under real-world conditions using a single computer, the invention couples the software filters by one or more virtual circuits that route the data stream to and from a network.
