摘要： A method for patterning a layer on a substrate can include projecting coherent radiation toward a reflector surface so that the coherent radiation is reflected off the reflector surface to provide a holographic projection of a desired image wherein the reflector surface includes information that corresponds to an inverse of the holographic projection of the desired image. The substrate including the layer can be maintained in the path of the reflected radiation so that the holographic projection is projected onto the layer. Related systems are also discussed.

Spa is a surface antigen distinct from M protein which evokes opsonic antibodies that are protective against multiple serotypes of streptococci. 摘要： Disclosed are bioluminescent bioreporter integrated circuit devices that detect select analytes in fluids when implanted in the body of an animal. The device comprises a bioreporter that has been genetically engineered to contain a nucleic acid segment that comprises a cis-activating response element that is responsive to the selected substance operably linked to a gene encoding a bioluminescent reporter polypeptide. In preferred embodiments, the target analyte is glucose, glucagons, or insulin. Exposure of the bioreporter to the target substance causes the response element to up-regulate the nucleic acid sequence encoding the reporter polypeptide to produce a luminescent response that is detected and quantitated. In illustrative embodiments, the bioreporter device is encapsulated on an integrated circuit that is capable of detecting the emitted light, processing the resultant signal, and then remotely reporting the results. Also disclosed are controlled drug delivery systems capable of being directly or indirectly controlled by the detection device that provide drugs such as insulin to the animal in response to the amount of target analyte present in the body fluids.

Autoimmune disorders may include multiple sclerosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, insulin-dependent diabetes and ulcerative colitis. Method for presenting multiple T cell receptor agonists on the surface of a professional or nonprofessional antigen-presenting cell comprising the steps of providing said fusion protein, contacting said fusion protein with at least one Fc receptor present on the surface of a professional or nonprofessional antigen-presenting cell, whereby the fusion protein is internalized by the antigen-presenting cell, whereby the fusion protein is internalized by the antigen-presenting cell, and endocytically processing the internalized fusion protein to provide more than one T cell receptor peptide agonist, wherein the provided T cell receptor agonists are presented on the surface of the antigen-presenting cell.

摘要： Immunomodulating agents comprising at least one Fc receptor ligand and at least one immunosuppressive factor are provided as are methods for their manufacture and use. The immunomodulating agents may be in the form of polypeptides or chimeric antibodies and preferably incorporate an immunosuppressive factor comprising a T cell receptor antagonist. The compounds and compositions of the invention may be used to selectively suppress the immune system to treat symptoms associated with immune disorders such as allergies, transplanted tissue rejection and autoimmune disorders including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

摘要： The surface of a workpiece is cleaned by generating a steady-state one atmosphere glow discharge plasma above the surface of the workpiece. The use of one atmosphere, uniform glow discharge plasmas generated by a low frequency RF ion trapping mechanisms is prefferred. The plasma used to effect surface cleaning may be formed in atmospheric air or other gases at about one atmosphere of pressure, or at pressures below or above one atmosphere.
